Aristocrats of Locthwain (EDH / Commander)

We need to talk about Ayara

I started playing this deck since its release with Throne of Eldraine in 2019, and it beacame easily one of my favorite decks.

It began as your traditional Aristocrat deck, with all the usual suspects such as Reassambling Skeleton, Bloodghast, all the Blood Artist effects... But the deck became quickly shut down by any grave hate card. It is not a surprise that Aristocrats are one of the most popular archetypes in Commander. Therefore, it isn't surprising to see grave hate in a majority of decks. Like, even I put some graveyard hate in my graveyard decks.

Anyway. The list evolved and became more and more a token deck rather than an aristocrat deck. I kept the main characteristics of the aristo decks but the main goal has changed.

Add with kaldheim :

• Rise of the Dread Marn. After a wrath, seems good if we can play Ayara before.
• Tyrite Sanctum. Because Ayara deserves to be a God.
• Turned my basic Swamps into Snow-covered Swamps, add Dead of Winter and Blood on the Snow

Add with Strixhaven :

• Remove : Plaguecrafter, Nightmare Shepherd, Elvish Dreadlord and Cloudstone Curio

• Add : Blight Mound, Sedgemoor Witch, Callous Bloodmage and the Elderspell

• Dark Ritual, Sign in Blood and Village Rites gets an Archive version

• The Elderspell out. Come back if more PW in local meta.

• Get back to regular swamps rather than Snow lands. Toxic Deluge and Essence Pulse in.

• Veinwitch Coven is here to provide a more "Graveyard centric" theme.

• Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools is finally here.

Changes with AFR + MH2 :

• Lolth, Spider Queen is a perfect addition for Ayara.
• Deadly Dispute is a good way to draw extra cards.
• Unmarked grave will be soon tested : Is the card good ? If yes, why ? Is there any better card to fetch than Bloodghast ?

Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder out => Ogre Slumlord is back.

Innistrad Midnight Hunt :

• Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia : a mini version of Ophiomancer
• Tainted Adversary : With all the mana the deck can create, it seems to be a good card
• The Meathook Massacre : Love it.
• Hostile Hostel : In test, but seems good

OUT : Priest of Forgotten gods, Piper of the Swarm, Soul Shatter and Leechridden Swamp

Innistrad Crimson Vow :
No additions to the deck. Except maybe for Full Art Eternal night Swamp

• Remove : Essence pulse
• Add : Jeweled Lotus

Kamigawa : Neon Dynasty:

• Takenuma, Abandoned Mire : a regrowth effect printed on a land is a solid addition to a deck that needs its creatures. Plus, the milling effect seems fine.
• Ruthless Technomancer : Another sac effect that ramp us.
• Roadside Reliquary : Seems as a much more "auto-included" card than I thought at first.
• Junji, the Midnight Sky : in test

OUT : Hostile Hostel, Rise of the Dread Marn, Erebos, Bleak-hearted and Peat Bog

• Ghoulcaller Gisa : Because we need more Zombos.

Commander Legends 2 Baldur's Gate

• Agent of the Iron Throne : C'mon, is it really necessary to explain ?
• Black Market Connections : A bit sad that the token is colorless, but is ok nevertheless
• Dauthi Voidwalker : Finally able to grab one for cheap.

OUT : Dusk Legion Zealot, Erebos's Intervention, Tymaret, Chosen from Death

Dominaria United: In test

• Braids, Arisen Nightmare : The sacrifice effects used with Braids seems good.
• Weatherlight Compleated : A lot of creatures will die => the boat will be great.

The Brother's War:

• currently testing Gixian Puppeteer instead of Ruthless Technomancer. There are some setups where it's relevant.

Phyrexia All will be One:

• Do I switch my Kamigawa swamps for the phyrexian one ?
  No other changes.

OUT : Jeweled Lotus : I'm using my only copy in an other deck.
Braids, Arisen Nightmare : Defintly not that great in the deck

IN : Dauthi Voidwalker : Always a good card
Carrion Feeder : Good sac outlet plus it's Junji Ito.
