This deck was inspired by the-magical-Christmas-land fever dream of summoning torgaar, famine incarnate with goryo’s vengeance or footsteps of the goryo, then using hidetsugu’s second rite after their life has been set to 10. While this didn’t work at all, it did give me the idea to make a super fast reanimator deck.
In order to do this, I needed to find legendary creatures who didn’t need to stick around for more than a turn to be good (which would allow both goryo cards to utilize them). The first was easily obzedat, ghost council, who we have seen before in modern reanimator decks. The second is how the deck got the name: Godo, the bandit warlord. He seems like a very crappy card, until you consider that batterskull is an equipment and that he can be dropped turn 2, making him even faster than STONEFORGE MYSTIC. From there I just threw in some disruption and made a sideboard that allows the deck not to use the graveyard.
