Grixis Foretold/Reality Control (Standard)

Play your Magma Spray and Fatal Push early in order to take out any key threats (Scrapheap Scrounger, Toolcraft Exemplar, Servant of the Conduit, Heart of Kiran, and many more). Grasp of Darkness can get the job done too but try to maximize what they target.

As Foretold in the opening hand is usually good, but in some matchups you may not want it there. Diabolic Tutor is slow but it really seems good to get your tools and closers.

Negate and Dispel can insure your As Foretold resolves, and it can also protect from removal (if they have any main deck - but Negate will also take care of Heart of Kiran, planeswalkers, other counter magic as mentioned, and removal that may target your Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet).

Finally, yes, Cruel Reality is 7 mana, but it is really really good.

The mana base is set up the way it is because we have Sweltering Suns with RR in its cost, and Magma Spray that we want to cast as soon as our first turn. At the same time, blue plays a major role in the deck, but we only have spells with one U in their cost, so 13 ways to get that one blue source with do just fine. Beyond that, there are also 13 ways to get blue and 19 ways to get black.
