Alesha, Who Smiles at Death is one of the most loved Commander since her release in Fate Reforged thanks to her incredibly strong and versatile ability. Fast Mardu commander, easy to play and with lot of room to build around, this is an idea for a value build with an aggro tribal twist.

First of all, I have to talk about Master of Cruelties, easy finisher of the deck. If we are abe to attack with Alesha, reanimate Master of Cruelties and have both unblocked, we have just removed an opponent from the game. The incredible ability of Master of Cruelties was limited by the necessity to attack alone but Alesha plays around that and offers the damage to defeat the defending opponent.

Now, considering what our commander can do, we want to fill our graveyard with lot of strong creatures to reanimate with Alesha and we want to attack with Alesha every single turn.

Starting with the Graveyard fill, Buried Alive and Entomb are just perfect, but we can easly play Gamble, Faithless Looting and the reanimable Insolent Neonate. It's good to have other effects to discard cards and Key to the City and Nahiri, the Harbinger do a lot more than that.

To let Alesha attack we need something to protect her while would be good to give her haste as well. Obviusly we are going to play Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots, but the protection we are seeking is provided by Reconnaissance. It's useful to make Alesha unblockable too and (again) Key to the City fits prefectly. In theme with the deck we even have Anger and Filth, the first one for haste and the second one comboing with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.

Now that we have ways to discard and reanimate creature, what we can bring back from our graveyard? Knight of the White Orchid, Burnished Hart and Solemn Simulacrum to ramp without green, Goblin Settler to destroy lands, Duergar Hedge-Mage for artifacts and enchantments, Ravenous Chupacabra for creatures and Selfless Spirit for protection.

With the recursion offered by Alesha (and the help offered by Sun Titan), we can even sacrifice our own creature to maximize their effects. Altar of Dementia offers an alternative win condition, Goblin Bombardment can steal a lot of damages but Cartel Aristocrat and Viscera Seer can be reanimated with Alesha and this gives us more solidity. While we're running sacrifice outlet, we can play Dictate of Erebos and Grave Pact for more advantage.

But what about the combos? We can run the classic Felidar Guardian + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker to create an army of kittens ready to attack (or to be sacrified) and both of those creatures are reanimable with Alesha. We can also run Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit + Murderous Redcap, both reanimable and comboing for infinite damage with a sacrifice outlet.

And what about the tribal aspect? First of all, goblins have a lot of good creatures to create a lot of token, like Ponyback Brigade or Siege-Gang Commander, but the best thing is to have access to Goblin Matron as a tutor. Goblin Matron can easly find Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker for value and for the combo, Tuktuk Scrapper to destroy some artifact, Goblin Settler for the lands, Skirk Prospector as sacrifice outlet and Dark-Dweller Oracle and Ankle Shanker for pure value.

Playing goblin it's possible to fill the board with token and pump them up with our cool lords, like Goblin Chieftain or Goblin King, and win some game fighting with Resolute Blademaster and maybe with Disrupt Decorum.

With lot of good creatures to play and a lot of ways to sacrifice/discard/tutor them, Alesha, Who Smiles at Death can be easly personalized with the cards that we love the most. Surely is a really good and fun commander and something to try out and play at least once.

È utile anche rendere Alesha imbloccabile e (ancora) Key to the City rientra alla perfezione.
