Standard Merfolk #2 (Standard)

This deck does perform really well. It obviously needs to be touched up, but I have found that Deeproot Elite and Vineshaper Champion are both better than I thought, while Deeproot Champion is not nearly as good in this deck as I had thought.

This deck plays like a normal merfolk with ramp and creatures and swinging for a ton of damage early. I made an effort to only put cheap cards (mana cost) in this deck so that it could be set off early. I really think this deck needs draw mechanics, hence Opt. I like Jace, Cunning Castaway and have put it in versions of standard merfolk decks I've been making and he is good but not really fast enough because when you get him out you want to already have enough firepower to end the game in a few turns. Another pretty cool card is Curious Obsession, but I only put one copy in because I don't think it is really too necessary. Enter the Unknown is also tempting but will be left out for now.
