That was my very first deck on MTG. Sure the first list was a mono green budget version, but this one was made with moths of improvement (and cash saving).
Not gonna lie, this aint a great deck cuz of the inconsistent werewolf mechanic, but i love the Werewolf theme and even not being the greatest deck list around, this deck gave me great moments of joy!
This is a midrange deck, meaning that you maybe not gonna play stuff on turn 1. Sure you have some 1 mana drops like Reckless Waif and Village Messenger, but they are here just to hold some matchups against aggro and potentially become bigger with Merciless Predator and Moonrise Intruder versions. Your deck really shines on turn 2 and especially on 3 and 4. You have great 2 mana drops like Mayor of Avabruck, that gives +1/+1 for your creatures and generates free wolf tokens with the Howlpack Alpha version. Keeping the mayor alive its a priority on the first turns, so consider to add some cheap protection like Giant Growth or Blossoming Defense if your firends have lot of control cards. Scorned Villager is a great drop 2 since it helps you with mana source and forces your opponent to actually do something on his turn, beacuse if it transforms into Moonscarred Werewolf you will generate 2 mana instead of one. Duskwatch Recruiter also helps with some draws and mana discount on his Krallenhorde Howler form. His ability on human form can help you do something on your turn without actually cast spells to transform your werewolf on the next turn. Neglected Heirloom also help you doing something and spending mana without casting spells. It also give you a +3/+3 first strike to your creatures.
On the 3 cost curve you have Hermit of the Natterknolls and Immerwolf. Hermit of the Natterknolls is a great drop 3 to keep since it have a lot of health in its transformed form of Lone Wolf of the Natterknolls and it give you some kind of "protection" against your opponent instant spells, since you draw a card if they cast it. Consider to change it to Lambholt Elder if your oponnents dont have instant to cast on your turn. Immerwolf help you to keep your transformed werewolf and give +1/+1 for everyone including your tokens.
On the 4 cost curve you have Huntmaster of the Fells, a creature that help to fix the werewolf mechanic A LOT, making good stuff when he transforms. You want to keep transforming him to gain 2 life and create a 2/2 wolf token on his human form or dealing 2 damage to oponnent face and another creature with his Ravanger of the fells form. Also, Mondronen Shaman help you keep on dealing free damage to oponnent face. On her Tovolar's Magehunter form she can potentially give 4 free damage on oponnent face if he wants to cast 2 spells to turn your werewolf back to normal. If he do not want to cast spells to avoid face damage you'll have a great 5/5 body on board.
Your enchantments are useful to keep the board alive and scarry. I used to keep 4 copies of Howlpack Resurgence, since it is a flash enchantment, allowing me to play it on oponnent's turn instead of mine, giving me the chance of doing nothing on my turn to transform the creatures, but full moon's rise do almost the same with lower cost and saved my creatures a lot of times with his regenerate effect. But overall, Howlpack Resurgence is the enchantment you want for life.
Moonmist is a EXCELLENT card on this archetype, For 2 mana you can tranform all your board and make them invunerable to combat damage. Combine this with it instant effect and you can surprise your opponent with a massive transforming in the middle of a attack or blocking, making the oponnent creatures die and keeping yours alive.
Arlinn Kord is here to help you generationg some wolf tokens and have some extra buffs and control. Also if you can have -6 on her Arlinn, Embraced by the Moon version you basically win the game with the emblem, but is very difficult to get it.
Overall, this deck is very fun to play and surprise your oponnents with Moonmist and Howlpack Resurgence. The gameplay is a race to transform and transform your creatures. Consider having some Lightning Bolt if you'r struggling to kill some creatures of Moonlight Hunt for even bigger ones.
Hope you enjoy this thematic list, now lets beat some vampires!
Note: You cant play with this deck without a shield on your cards cuz they dont have the standard back like all other cards.
