pack rat madness (Modern)

The point of this deck is to take advantage of all of the madness cards that came out with SOI to make the down side of pack rat's "{2}{B}, Discard a card: Create a token that's a copy of Pack Rat." a positive thing as a discard outlet that lets us pull back rats from our graveyard, remove opponent's creatures, or hit them in the face - with lots of hand disruption to neutralize your opponent as you get the pack rat engine online cranking out huge rats every turn that are protected by your swarmyards.

Typhoid Rats gums up the board and keeps you from getting hit on the ground until you can get the pack rats online. (Drainpipe Vermin has this same effect as this deck has a lot of hand disruption and they want to hang on to their cards.) Swarm of rats is usually pretty fragile, but being able to madness it out of the graveyard makes it super valuable and gives you 8 cards that grow based on the # of rats you have in addition to all of the pack rat clones.

Marrow Gnawer is a great finisher as it gives all of your rats fear and lets you double the toughness of your army every turn with it's ability. 1 of seems fine as there are some tutors to grab him or a missing pack rat or swarmyard late in the game. Call to the netherworld can pull him or your pack rats back if they get removed.

You really want to see a pack rat and swarmyard in your opening hand, but the deck does really well even w/o the pack rat engine online. I have some main deck creature removal, but can board in additional hand disruption for control.

It's a lot of fun and is surprisingly competitive! Tried to keep it sensibly priced, but if you have them, some of the more expensive MBC cards would fit the deck mechanics nicely. (liliana of the veil, thoughtseize, inquisition of kozilek etc.)
