"Feeding a normal army is a problem of logistics. With zombies, it is an asset. Feeding is why they fight. Feeding is why they are feared."

=== P L E A S E _ N O T E ===

I disassembled this deck in February 2020.

=== I N T R O D U C T I O N ===

Even after modifying them, I was still discontent with my Thraximundar zombie tribal deck and my Stitcher Geralf mill deck, so I decided to dismantle both and merge their themes, in order to create something new and more exiting.

When it comes to zombies and milling, Gisa and Geralf meet all your commander needs. Granting access to two colors, the twins offer far more options when together rather than separate. With a few additional group mill and/or self mill cards in the 99, their static ability provides card advantage in itself, and may generate tons of value when combined with the right utility zombies.

=== S T R A T E G Y ===

Game plan:
a) Mill yourself and your opponents.
b) Get Gisa and Geralf onto the battlefield.
c) Generate value by exploiting all kinds of graveyard shenanigans.

Win conditions:

  1. Beatdown. Overrun your opponents with lots of (non)token zombies and with their own reanimated fatties.
  2. Combo. The deck has ways to win instantly (see below).
  3. Mill. If in doubt, mill them out.

Mentionable cards & synergies:

Tips & tactics:
This is a midrange deck, so be patient and try to outvalue your opponents. Don't be afraid to mill yourself as often as feasible. You'll get good card selection this way, and Buried Ruin, Codex Shredder and Crucible of Worlds will have your back. If all else fails, use Perpetual Timepiece to shuffle crucial cards from your graveyard back into your library.

This deck is a ton of fun! It provides a lot of ways to interact with the board, but also enough raw creature power to overwhelm opponents quickly, and even two combos that can win a stalled game in an instant. A significant weakness is its lack of creatures with flying, so my zombies always have to eat the opponent with the dragon tribal deck first. I would love to hear your thoughts on my deck list, so please leave a comment. Thanks!
