Little unlucky with this deck on opening hands and draws since the power level was clearly there. That said, being base RG was a massive issue here, despite the numerous bomb level cards. Even double Rocco to fetch the powerful stuff could only take me so far, although it'd be interesting to see how much closer things would've been with compliant mana.
Format in a nutshell: Final game my opponent played Ballroom Brawlers against me and augmented with a Caldaia Strongarm to make it a 5/7 lifelink/first strike on demand. No RG removal will kill it. RG doesn't have evasion to race it. You can't realistically kill it with combat tricks once it get on offense. Even searching up Jetmir and Warchief with double Rocco couldn't turn it around. It's an aggressive tempo format and RG doesn't have tempo cards (except strangle) doesn't have lifelink, doesn't have the reach to combat fliers, doesn't have the card advantage or card velocity (not to mention the board-affecting card advantage) of White of all colours. It doesn't matter how open the colour pair is, it's not possible to make up for the fundamental colour imbalances and the fact that the set balancing is a total mess. It's not like this should be such a bad format. All of the set mechanics are fundamentally sound for limited, it's just the W and brokers cards are obscenely good, whereas the other multicolour cards are almost exclusively bad. Rant over.
