Looking at building the best possible tokens deck for the upcoming standard by comparing 4 possible options. This version is Naya.
Why play Naya?
1) We get the best of both decks all rolled up into one.
*There are strong plays at every slot on the curve.
2) There is a good balance between our protectionspells and our removal.
3) The sideboard can account for most anything we will face.
*of course, it will change depending on the meta.
4) We actually play less gates.
5) There are many ways to trigger Divine Visitation.
*playing enchantments can be like taking a turn off sometimes, however this deck has 13 ways to trigger DV on turn 5.
Where the deck struggles?
1) Cutting Benalish Marshall.
*it may be the best creature the tokens strategy can play, and we've been forced to cut it for mana restrictions.
2) The mana base is clunky.
*we are not going to curve our lands out untapped as often with this deck as in the two color builds.
3) Synergy Lost.
we are playing less Goblins for Siege-Gang Commander to abuse.
the deck plays less mentor creatures, taking away some needed pump.
Overall:
*I'm not sure going three colors is worth it. The red elements of the deck does help makes it far more balanced, however it also has some great weaknesses.
*Losing Benalish Marshal is huge. It makes an army of tokens so much better.
*I would need to test things out upon release, but I would run Selesnya over Naya out of the gate. It just looks like a smoother deck.
