I've been doing a series of decks that I am calling "Best Build Search". Basically, I choose a new card that interests me from Ravnica Allegiance and build different decks to see if I can find the best or most interesting way to play the card.

Best Build Search: Judith, the Scourge Diva
*Judith is incredibly powerful. She is interesting because she can slot into aggro decks or in aristocrats style decks.

Why Suicide Rakdos?
The archetype is interesting. Can you kill your opponent before you essentially kill yourself?
Helping the opponent kill you can be a bad proposition, however it is projected that this format will likely be a three color midrange/control based format. If this is true this deck may be exactly what the doctor ordered.
*Of course the other option is to play mono red (it looks like a solid option as well), however black opens up some options that red just does not on its own.

How does the deck work?
The deck is a fast aggro deck with a ton of burn spells.
The deck also does a ton of incidental damage to your opponent, so if you can get them down under 5 life naturally through attacking and burn, then you can finish an opponent off by just waiting for your next upkeep or sacrificing a creature.
*The deck has some game against Settle the Wreckage (unlike many aggro strategies) since you can just stop attacking once the opponent has 4 mana open and allow your burn, sacrificing, and incidental damage to finish the game off. Another note is that you can even turn of their ability to cast Absorb by not casting more spells and slowly winning a grindy game.

Deck Construction:

a) One drops
Fanatical Firebrand has haste and can self sacrifice to trigger multiple creatures abilities.
Gutterbones has 2 power and recursion. Great sacrifice target.
*Vicious Conquistadors can cause 1 life loss just by attacking (good for spectacle) and also has 2 toughness to survive Goblin Chainwhirler in the mono red matchup and in combat against 1/1 tokens.

b) Fireblade Artist
a 2cmc haste creature is so good on the play. Almost a guarantee of 2 damage on entry.
the sacrifice ability gives it a great midgame purpose as you can sacrifice off outclassed creatures to deal 2 damage.
*lost often is the fact that this is a great answer for holding down planeswalkers.

c) Graveyard Marshall.
*creatures will die on our side. The Rakdos are excepting of this. Cranking out a 2/2 token once our hand is exhausted both gives the deck board presence and quality sacrifice fodder.

d) Rix Maadi Reveler
I look at this as a 4cmc card to be the curve topper, but playing it on turn 2 works if you really need to try to fix your hand.
drawing three cards is a lot to finish off games, especially in a deck with burn spells and sacrifice triggers.
*this has great synergy with Graveyard Marshall and Gutterbones.

e) Judith, the Scourge Diva
*already discussed above. Makes the whole deck work.

f) Midnight Reaper
big time card draw when the deck reaches the midgame.
at the very least replaces itself if not exiled.

g) Spawn of Mayhem
almost always cast for 3cmc, either from our attacks or incidental damage.
big trampling body to hit the board on turn 3.
the one incidental damage every turn makes a big difference over the course of a game.
great for triggering spectacle.

h) Light up the Stage
getting access to two cards for 1cmc is fantastic.
I'm playing this over Experimental Frenzy as it lowers the curve and plays better alongside Midnight Reaper.

i) Skewer the Critics
*this is sorcery speed Lightning Bolt almost all the time in this deck.

j) Lightning Strike / Shock
I'm doing a 2/2 split right now. I know I want to play 4 burn, but the meta will decide how this balances out.
the reason I am playing Shock (instead of a playset of Lightning Strike) is that it helps enable spectacle for 1cmc. This allows me to use it to trigger spectacle and still cast other spells.

Sideboard:

a) Dire Fleet Daredevil
*I see this as a nice play against some midrange decks, and an even better play against mono red. Playing the opponents burn is a big advantage against them.

b) Duress / Drill Bit
Duress is the cheap answer to mass removal and removal in general.
Drill Bit is excellent in this deck and even better on the play as we will almost with certainty be able to cast it on turn 2.

c) Lava Coil
*best removal in the format. Not in main board because the deck wants direct damage to player.

d) Moment of Craving
*great removal against aggro.

e) Plaguecrafter
*a good fit in this deck that takes care of problem creatures while also providing upside to the deck as a sacrifice outlet.

f) Rekindling Phoenix
*gives extra size and resilience to the deck.

g) Vicious Offering
takes care of early game threats and most of the biggest threats.
bonus sac outlet.
