To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!

Mono red aggro or RDW tend to have the perception of being a beginners deck or an into into competitive MTG. There is some weight to that, however this deck is very strong. It packs a punch and in the post-Oko world of Historic this may be a go-to deck.

Let's look at the cards:

1) Torbran, Thane of Red Fell
I'm starting at the top end of the curve because it breaks the deck. Torbran is really good in standard, however it gets a little silly in historic. When viewing all burn spells or ping abilities, think of that number plus 2 off the top of the deck late. Even blocking becomes incredibly difficult.
The card takes a really good deck and pushes it to the limit.

2) Experimental Frenzy
Not the greatest pairing with Torbran, as it probably bricks the flow of cards off the top. Amazing paired with Torbran if it is already on the battlefield.
If you get to rip 3/4 cards in a turn then you are probably winning right there.

3) Goblin Chainwhirler
He's back!
Going to kill so many mana dorks. If it has 1 toughness, then you probably can't play it.
*Did I mention we are playing Torbran...3 damage to opponent, planeswalkers and creatures they control. Oh my. Sweltering Suns + Lightning Bolt + 3 damage wrath for planeswalkers + 3/3 first strike body for 3cmc.

4) Bonecrusher Giant
Adds more burn to the deck and a very nice sized threat.
Torbran implications are real (4 damage spell or 4 damage to target creature)
*Awesome Frenzy synergy to get it off the top for 2cmc, then it is exiled so you can cast the Giant. Also, great to cast Stomp before Frenzy since you can still play Bonecrusher because it is not in your hand.

5) Runaway Steam-Kin
Let's us cut lands since you can cheat out some decent midrange stuff.
Still works magic with Frenzy. Cast and reload.

6) Viashino Pyromancer
*2 to the face on a stick is still really good.

7) Ghitu Lavarunner
*There may actually be better creatures at 1cmc, but 2 toughness matters since Chainwhirler could be a really big deal in this format.

8) Fanatical Firebrand
I like that it has haste and serves a purpose once the opponent plays creatures with a little size.
Not a bad topdeck late just to sneak a damage through, and with Torbran it is a real threat to deal 3 damage.
Guarantees a damage goes through for spectacle.

9) Light up the Stage
*Card draw that is not interfered with by Experimental Frenzy.

10) Lightning Strike
*Good burn for the rate at instant speed.

11) Shock
Same as Lightning Strike
kills Elvish Mystic and Knight of the Ebon Legion turn 1.

12) Lands
*You could probably cut the land count down due to Light up the Stage and Runaway Steam-Kin, however I don't want to be stuck on two lands often so I'm starting at 21 and we will see how that does first.

Sideboard:

1) Embereth Shieldbreaker // Battle Display
There are a few artifacts that need to be dealt with, but I'm not sure if they slots are totally warranted.
Goblin Cratermaker may be a better card, but doesn't hit some of the top artifacts. Will see.

2) Experimental Frenzy
*For games that have a chance to go a little longer.

3) Dire-Fleet Daredevil
*better on the draw against decks that play solid interactive spells or in the mirror.

4) Lava Coil
*Exile removal that kills the majority of the threats we will see in a game.

5) Rampaging Ferocidon
sideboard all-star
against other creature decks this is great as the incidental damage adds up fast.
Menace helps making blocking very difficult
best of all, shutting off lifegain is a big plus for the decks viability against midrange/control.

6) Rekindling Phoenix
*I want to play some in the 75 since it is just so hard to remove.

Notes:

1) The sideboard needs work. I need to play games in the format to see what answers or solutions the sideboard needs. I'm confident in Rampaging Ferocidon, otherwise the rest are blah.

2) Getting the land count right may be the most important thing to nail down. Too few and you stall, too many and you don't deal your damage fast enough.

3) The deck is way better than a typical RDW because of the 4 drops. Torbran makes every topdeck thereafter full of potential. Experimental Frenzy has always made it possible for the deck to just go off.

4) The main deck is close to being maxed out in potential for right now, the real upgrades could come at 1cmc creatures. I'm not sure the deck gets upgrades here in the near future, but if it does it could be really nasty.

Other considerations:

I'm wrestling with the concept of playing a transformative sideboard. It would not be that hard to go big red out of the sideboard. The biggest issue is the land count, probably have to increase the main deck by another land and play a couple in the side. Here is what I'm thinking:

Side out-
x3 Torbran
x2 Frenzy
x4 Fanatical Firebrand
x4 Viashino Pyromancer
x2 Light up the Stage

Side In-
x4 Rekindling Phoenix
x2 Skarrgan Hellkite
x1 Mountain
x2 Dire-Fleet Daredevil
x2 Lava Coil
x2 Rampaging Ferocidon
x2 Risk Factor or Thrill of Possibility

*I just like the feel of how the deck shifts in a totally new direction. It makes some of the sideboard decisions the opponent will make far less efficient.

*A major selling point for testing this concept is that the original sideboard options are very weak to begin with. I would not be losing much of consequence, and many of these cards are just solid sideboard options on their own anyway.
