DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
What the deck does:
The deck is designed to maximize Thought-Knot Seer and Reality Smasher.
These two midrange creatures can provide a serious punch in a tempo deck.
*The deck paired humans and vehicles together to complete the eldrazi tempo deck.
What inspired the deck:
*These cards are abused in other formats because they can be accelerated out. I believe that these creatures can be overwhelming to play against in frontier as well.
Step 1: Add our midrange eldrazi's.
(a) Thought-Knot Seer. 4 copies.
Crippling tempo card.
4/4 body is nothing to laugh at in a deck built like this.
(b) Reality Smasher. 3 copies.
Major finisher.
Totally hard to deal with if you curve TKS into RS.
Step 2: Consider how to make colorless mana.
*We need to play at least 11 colorless sources to consistently play TKS on turn 4.
Options
Unclaimed Territory- build a tribal deck (not necessarily eldrazi)
Spire of Industry- have a large supply of cheap artifacts (rakdos maybe Scrounger/Courier)
Deserts
Pain lands
Green- Traverse the Ulvenwald for wastes
Energy- Aether Hub
I'm going to attempt to make a vehicles deck, with an eldrazi midgame.
Lands to utilize
-Unclaimed Territory (dwarves or humans)
-Spire of Industry (vehicles and scrounger)
-Pain lands (Battlefield Forge/Caves of koilos)
-Deserts (Ramunap Ruins/Shefet Dunes)
Step 3: Choose the vehicles first:
(a) Smuggler's Copter. 4 copies.
Easiest to crew and the best ability for a tempo style deck.
Covers 4 slots of card draw for the deck.
*Great evasion between flying and only being a creature when crewed.
(b) Aethersphere Harvester. 1 copy.
*flying, pseudo lifelink, 5 toughness for blocking
Step 4: Add any artifact creatures that fit archetype:
(a) Scrapheap Scrounger. 3 copies.
Great attacker.
Crews any vehicle.
*Supplies some recursion.
Step 5: Add tribal creatures (Humans)
*Looked at Humans, Dwarves, Wizards, Artificers, Pirates.
(a) Reflector Mage. 4 copies.
*Best tempo human available.
(b) Thalia, Heretic Cathar. 2 copies.
*A close second to Reflector Mage.
(c) Kitesail Freebooter. 3 copies.
*Great tempo card, even better paired with TNS.
(d) Bloodsoaked Champion. 4 copies.
*2 powered one drop with recursion.
Step 6: Build the mana base:
The mana base is decent considering all the restrictions we faced.
Wanted 11 colorless for Eldrazi.
wanted 8 fetch lands to play fatal push.
blue only needed in the main for Reflector Mage
Colorless
Spire of Industry 4- will tap for any color turns 3+
Unclaimed Territory 4 -will tap for any color for humans
Caves of koilos 2 -white/black from turn 1
Field of Ruin 1 -good disruption
The Rest
Flooded Strand 4
Polluted Delta 4
Sunken Hollow 1
Prairie Stream 1
Step 7: Utility Cards:
Removal
(a) Fatal Push. 3 copies.
(b) Declaration in Stone. 1 copy.
(c) Hostage Taker. 2 copies.
Card Draw
(d) Chart a Course. 2 copies.
