I tried writing a description but apparently it DIDN'T SAVE, so... the abridged version is below. This deck has been owed a description for a long time.
This was the first complete PDH deck that I had in paper. Goblins was technically first, but that was shambled together. My first regular EDH deck and still the one closest to my heart is Meren, of Clan Nel Toth, so this Golgari deck was special to me. The past 2 years has had many excellent PDH cards released and after plenty of playtesting it was time for version 2.0!
This deck has a mild aristocrats theme due to their relation to +1/+1 counters and the powerful payoff cards in black. Unfortunately I didn't get to add as much as I would've liked. Oh well. It also has a spore counter subtheme to support sacrificing creatures. Winding Constrictor doubles ALL counters, so Thallids make a creature almost every turn now!
It's too bad the second ability of Winding Constrictor can't be used, mostly because there's only 14 legal energy cards for pauper Golgari, and the only one of those that makes energy repeatedly is Consulate Turret. :vomit: Side note, but Winding Constrictors second ability also means that Evolution Sage and Fynn, the Fangbearer are the SCARIEST FRICKING DECKS TO PLAY AGAINST. Any infect decks will have an easy time killing you.

v2.01 - I felt like I was missing something and ended up finding that Rot Shambler's been downshifted and that I forgot Territorial Scythecat exists. Sorry Nested Shambler & Gavony Unhallowed... I need to make a straight-up Golgari Aristocrats deck to include you guys.
v2.03 - Thinking on Feign Death & Undying Malice I realized that it would mean losing all other counters on a big pumped-up creature. Swapped for Tamiyo's Safekeeping & Sheltering Word.
