1) Quick review :
Mono Green Stompy budget style !
I'll add some infos here on how to play the deck even if that's not hard to draw, play and attack with everything you have on the board :D !
So let's STOMP !!!!!
2) The aim of the deck :
The deck is called Stompy ... So as his name speaks by himself, you need to play massives creature and faceroll your opponent until his life total falls to 0.
The task herself is not that hard. Every single time you can play a card, you MUST play that card (don't count for Harmonize, and Vines of Vastewoods (unless you paid the kick :D)).
3) The list :
My list runs 24 creatures Each and everyone of them is green and pays for green mana. (Seems like the mana base won't be hard to deal with x'D !)
Then I play 15 spells ... Those are to boost my creature or to get an extra breath (via Harmonize) when I'm out of cards ! Those cards are also green ...
As I said mana base won't be a problem ! 19 forest will be sufficient to play every single one of your cards ! I added 2 manlands (Treetop Village) for more stomping ! That's fun this way ! :D
4) Play the deck :
Step 1 : Play lands
Step 2 : Play creatures
Step 3 : Boost them (or not)
Step 4 : Attack with everything you have
Step 5 : Repeat Steps 1 to 4 until you stomp your opponent !
Yeah ! You have mastered Mono Green Stompy !!! x'D
5) In depth comprehension :
Your turn 1 will always be an Experiment one or a Dryad militant. Try to cast an Experiment one first if you have both in your opening hand, as the Dryad will trigger the Experiment and transform it into a 2/2.
On turn 2 you have a ton of options ! Kalonian Tusker, Strangleroot geist and Avatar of the resolutes are all boosted animals ! Your opponent will pale before those 3. I really enjoy playing a Strangleroot on turn 2 as it has haste but the others 2 are sooooooo great (especially the Avatar as it already has trample) ! Other wise, you can boost your Experiment via Rancor and play a Dryad for more boosting ! Such a great Turn 2 ... :D
Turn 3 is where everything turns into your favor ! Leatherback Baloth is one of the best creatures ever printed ! 3 manas for a 4/5 ??? Really Wizards ? (try to compare him with the massively powerful Horned Turtle (kidding ... x'D) ! You can also play every single card in your hand that is a combination of a 2CMC and 1 CMC or three 1 CMC cards ! Basically turn 3 is where you start stomping your foe and dealing 15 damage each turn ! x'D
Turn 4 is where you pray for no Damnation or Wrath of God ... Other wise you still play your cards like a retard ! You can pretty much oneshot someone with Aspect of Hydra ... (Yeah, that's boosted !) ... Ok let's try to figure it out ! You have on bord an Experiment one (3/3), an Avatar of the resolutes (4/3 Trample) and a Leatherback Baloth (4/5) You play Rancor and Vines of vastewood (kicked) on your Baloth it become a massive 10/9 trample hexproof ... cast an Aspect on your Baloth to make him a monster 17/16 trample hexproof (you also proceed to make Emrakul, Kozilek and Ulamog cry) ! Faceroll your opponent for free ! If the game is not over, ... Turn 5 will allow him to know the true definition of "Despair" !! MOUAHAHAH !
Turn 5 is the same as Turn 4 ... If you want you can cast an Harmonize for more cards in your hand and more opponent stomping !
Basically there won't be any turn 6 ... So I'll stop here ! :D Just keep in mind that you can also play Treetop Village as it transforms into a powerfull 3/3 trample ! and it allows you to use your mana at your maximum if you don't have any card in hand !
6) Conclusion :
Thanks for reading me ! Stompy is an incredibly fun deck to play ! It's also super cheap (no Fetchlands, no Liliana, no Snapcasters, ...) and pretty great as a starter deck (because it's easy to play !).
So have fun and ... LET'S STOMP !!!! :D
