To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
You see jank? I see a standard meta-breaker, ready to wash away the competition.
Risen Reef is a powerhouse, and this deck looks to exploit its nearly limitless potential (especially in a 60 card deck) by putting your entire deck into your hand, and drawing with Jace, wielder of mysteries.
How do we achieve this? Omniscience.
Wait. We want to win with a ten mana enchantment?
That is a rather prohibitive cost, so let’s not pay it! This is where Flood of Tears comes in. Not only does it wipe away any pesky vampires, dinosaurs, or enemy elementals, but along with some cheap permanents of your own, you can make sure you get that sweet free permanent.
Hopefully that permanent is Omniscience, but even if it isn't, Urban Utopia, Gift of Paradise, Risen Reef, or any of our Planeswalkers (With their abilities ready again) make a perfectly acceptable drop, especially considering our opponent must take their next turn rebuilding.
Once you do land an Omniscience, you can play your Risen Reefs (And everything you draw with them) for free, which usually is enough to get an engine going where you draw your entire deck BUT without risk of killing yourself because Risen Reef does not draw cards, rather it puts them into your hand, so you can find you Jace without fear.
Now, not every game goes perfectly, which is natural. Its Magic. But we will not capitulate just yet. Most cards in the deck are both permanents and provide card advantage in some way, even Leafkin Druid when you have Risen Reef, so that you can both find combo pieces (Flood of Tears, including permanents to bounce, and Omniscience) and build a board to protect yourself so you can pull off this wicked fun combo. Every card having a purpose, games where we can’t wash a single reef ashore are rare; we always have a fighting chance.
