To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This is my 7th Commander deck. I really had no hope of building any new decks, but when I saw Strixhaven's Dina, Soul Steeper, I fell in love with her. Her abilities have so much potential, drain opponents and a sacrifice outlet? Sign me in.
Doing some research, I found out tweaking out the Witherbloom Witchcraft C21 pre-con was way more cheaper than building the deck from scratch, as there are already lots of lifegain synergies for its main commander. Cards like Essence Pulse, Healing Technique and Pulse of Murasa gain life in the act, and there are many conditional lifegain as well (Pristine Talisman, Sangromancer, Noxious Gearhulk). And pre-con's reprints like Alhammarret's Archive and Sanguine Bond really add to the deck, considering that we also have card advantage with Moldervine Reclamation, Greed and Ancient Craving.
But some adjustments had to be made. Global lifeloss is very effective for Dina's draining (Retreat to Hagra, Revenge of Ravens) and cards that makes us gain a life and draw a card (Vampiric Rites, Deathreap Ritual, Vraska, Golgari Queen).
As for creatures, most of them managed to stay but there are a few additions. Deathrite Shaman had to make an appearance, Creakwood Liege busts our creatures and makes free tokens, and Lampad of Death's Vigil sacrifices tokens to generate global lifeloss.
It has to be tested, but I think this build will be a very fun and effective one. Dina's abilities make her a splendid commander, and can't wait to see what's she capable of.
