To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This is my 9th Commander deck, and came as an idea to reconvert one of my favorite Modern decks, Ascendant Visions, into an EDH build.
The deck features 2 alternate win conditions. One is the Simic Ascendancy counters, and the other is the Biovisionary clone. Melding them into a Commander deck required an appropiate leader. Thank Roalesk, Apex Hybrid for the rescue.
Building this deck wasn't so difficult. I already owned the base for the clone strategy and the Brokers deck from Streets of New Capenna provided me with tons of counter synergies, incluiding the commander. All I had to do was doing the card selection.
So, let's review the deck a little. One win condition revolves around getting Biovisionary in the field and copying it until our end step. Spells like Quasiduplicate, Repudiate // Replicate, Extravagant Replication and Rite of Replication get this done, as well as creatures like Glasspool Mimic and Altered Ego. If I'm having trouble finding Biovisionary, Momir Vig, Simic Visionary fetches it for me.
The other win condition is Simic Ascendancy, so the +1/+1 counters theme is heavy in the deck. Lots of creatures and spells play around it, like Primal Empathy, Forgotten Ancient, Path of Discovery, Combine Guildmage, Zegana, Utopian Speaker and others.
And one other heavy theme of the deck is proliferation. Evolution Sage, Pollenbright Druid, Tezzeret's Gambit, Thrummingbird and our commander himself can easily pump up our counters like crazy.
I really hope this deck will work as intended. I feel it's balanced and made for fun playing, but hoping to end the game rather quickly. It has to be tested.
