Budget Mono B Affinity:

So this is a concept, that of course, others already have explored. But this is my take on a Mono B Affinity deck. This also is rather on the budget side.

Card Choices:

Arcbound Worker: This is just a decent 1-drop. Its modular ability makes it a good blocker and/or sacrifice target. When it dies, another of your creatures gets stronger.

Bonded Construct: While a 2/1 for 1 is usually quite good, its drawback makes it useless when you draw more than one. Therefore only 2 in the deck.

Chief of the Foundry: A decent addition that came with Kaladesh. While it is easier to remove than Tempered Steel, it still does a decent job. It also doesn't need any colored mana, which is a plus! No. 1 target for removal together with Signal Pest. Since we don't play that much lands, we only use 3.

Etched Champion: One of the best creatures in this deck. As long as you have two other artifacts, this creature has protection from all colours and therefore is almost unkillable. Getting two more artifacts on the board is no problem with this deck... I actually like having 4 of them in the deck but i decided, that 3 might be enough.

Frogmite: One of the creatures, that you will cast for free most of the time. Its affinity for artifacts lets us play a 2/2 for cmc 1 or 0. Nice!

Memnite: Another free creature, yay!

Ornithopter: Free and flying. Awesome! Attach Cranial Plating to it and it will be quite threatening.

Signal Pest: Another lord for this deck. Its battlecry buffs all of our creatures and helps getting damage through. This usually is the No. 1 target for removal. We play 4 because it's just that good.

Cranial Plating: The powerhouse of this deck and the main reason we only play mono black. Its "attach" ability keeps the opponent guessing and punishes bad blocking decisions. It's not uncommon to get +7/+0 from this Equipment. Playing 4 is a must!

Ghostfire Blade: While not as good as Cranial Plating, this card still does a decent job. It gets a lot of our creatures out of Lightning Bolt-range.

Rite of Consumption: This card can end the game one turn earlier if rightly used. As you sacrifice a creature, Rite of Consumption checks its CURRENT power. Which means, that if you use it on an equipped creature, the bonus from the equipment will add to the damage (rule 608.2g). This means, that you can easily sacrifice a creature for 5+ damage. Nice! Since we don't want to sacrifice too many creatures, we only play 3.

Springleaf Drum: This card opens up some explosive turn 1 shenanigans like: Land + Memnite + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum, then tap SLD and Memnite for another 1 mana to play Signal Pest.

Sideboard Choices:

Pleas note: The sideboard is still under construction.

Bone Splinters: Since we got so many creatures in this deck, we don't mind sacrificing one for an unconditional removal. I like it over Murderous Cut because we usually don't have too many cards to delve and over dismember, since it can deal with even the biggest creatures. And it's budget as well!

Duress: When fighting combo decks, this can come in handy. You can also ensure to resolve an Etched Champion when your opponent has a lot of counterspells.

Sign in Blood: When you know the game is gonna take a little longer, you can use this card to refuel your hand. You can also target your opponent to kill him if he only has two life.
