To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Firstly, this deck uses Trostani because my meta has a lot of decks running around that either drain the table a la Nekusar or win through mass burn spells a la Neheb. If that weren't the case, I'd probably go with Karametra, God of Harvests as the commander or possibly Sigarda, Heron's Grace to protect a good portion of the Enchantress' from spot removal.
I don't think this deck is particularly powerful. It plays incremental value, drawing cards and ramping until it can assemble Heliod + Skybind + Nykthos. Use Nykthos to pop out a few Clerics, exile Nykthos with skybind, get Nykthos back each endstep, then hopefully win with a lot of luck. This build also doesn't play many sweepers, resorting mostly to enchantment based removal. Depending on your meta, that may or may not have to be fiddled with.
The Sideboard is for those with the $$$, but even after pumping the extra $500-$700 into it, you still won't win against anything competitive or probably even optimized. Invest only for love!
The Best Cards I'd Upgrade For First:
The Cards I'd Cut First With a Budget:
The deck, being 2 colour, can get by with the mana base as-is. If you dislike the taplands I'd first test having more basics first to save $$$, but you will get mana screwed more often.
Other cards worth strong consideration are cards that make tokens for Trostani + Divine Visitation + Token Doublers. Those would be things like Squirrel Nest, Awakening Zone, etc. And also Beastmaster Ascension to win through combat if you decide to go wide.
The deck runs a light Humans subtheme since a lot of the enchantments matter creatures are Humans. Feel free to cut that for more elves for faster mana + other good stuff.
