This deck is based on the synergy I saw between Vial Smasher and Ludevic. With both commanders on the field, the first spell you cast deals damage to someone other than you, turning on Ludevic, who draws you a card at the end of the turn. That was the inspiration. I also thought flavor wise a mad scientist and a goblin with bottles of dragon's fire would get along well.

POLITICS ARE KEY
The main game plan is to win with incremental burn and card advantage. This approach requires making yourself seem like less than a threat than the rest of the board. The smaller number of creatures in the deck can help, but may at times hinder this plan. Sure, you won't look like a threat, but if you have no blockers, people may attack you just because they can. Ludevic gives them a reason to try to hit someone else, so that can help. There needs to be a lot of interaction and deal-making to ensure survival. With Vial Smasher out you will be randomly shooting at life totals, and you may be able to get away with it if you point out to your angry opponent that the 8 damage from Dig Through Time wasn't actually aimed at them, it's just random! Some people will, however, take it personally, so that is something you will have to deal with. There is also a instant/sorcery theme that some of the cards use.

OTHER DAMAGE
You are also using cards like Sulfuric Vortex and Ludevic to whittle at life totals under the guise of either just helping or hurting everyone. Talrand, Docent of Perfection, Metallurgic Summonings, and Young Pyromancer take advantage of the instant/sorcery subtheme to make blockers/attakers who help with your goal of staying alive and whittling at life totals. The flying tokens are especially good for this.

MANABASE
I know that it needs better lands, but I am a college student, and am just trading for better lands or occasionally picking them up as they come along. So far I have not had many problems with the manabase.

SIDEBOARD
This is actually the maybeboard, I can't figure out how to work the maybeboard on my iPad. I would like to add these cards, but I don't have them.

More to come

RESULTS
3/17/2017 Played 2 games 1v1 against Breya precon turned Sydri, won both, seems powerful against a single opponent.
4/18/2017 Played 3 multiplayer games at the lgs today, won 1 game. Ludevic definitely helps to keep creatures hitting opponents, noticed I often drew unnecessary lands late into the game. Played 4 games against a Sigarda voltron, won 1 game when I started with Sol Ring and he was mana screwed, but he blanked most of the spot removal and sac effects. In comes Arcane Lighthouse.
4/20/2017 Played 1 multiplayer game against Nekusar, Scion, and Tasigur. Everyone was at a low life total because of Nekusar and Vial Smasher, I was able to kill the Nekusar player, but then was killed by the Scion player. Overall a good game, no deficiencies noted.
