Archived Theme Deck for Modern

This is the final revision of my original Orzhov Syndicate theme deck. This deck will not be further built, as I've changed my vision for my line of Ravnica Guild theme decks, but I want to preserve it here for the sake of posterity.

This is probably, by far, my favorite Ravnican Guild deck out of all ten guilds. Mainly because it's so fun to play; I always end a game with a shit-eating grin, even when I lose, simply because of the disgusting amount of life I can sap from my mates.

Black/White with a major focus on lifegain, mainly through extort. Minor evasion and control; control is boosted by the legendary creatures, evasion is boosted through the Gift of Orzhova.

Typically, I've found that the weaker extort creatures is the main thing to be targeted until you get out Teysa or Kambal, but that doesn't usually mean anything if you can get out the stronger extort creatures. Pontiff of Blight is typically more of a distraction than a boon; prepare to watch him get Murdered.

Jaysus Chroist, you will get so much aggro, tho. Try to plan your plays defensively; as soon as you start extorting people not running dedicated lifegain will target you.

I really, really enjoy the Knight of Obligation with Gift of Orzhova, mainly because I absolutely fucking love the aesthetic of a badass, ornate knight with stained-glass wings (who can calculate interest to six decimals while fighting those pansy lawmages, wolf-knights, and legionnaires). Also, 3/6 flying, lifelink, vigilance, with extort, fucking hell that's fun.
