To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This deck is from our new podcast: Mull to 3, Episode 1 'Gods and Bans' (3rd of May 2017)
This deck is pretty damned simple. Hell, it's barely an actual deck because it has more threats than answers. The upside is that these are serious questions. I think this would work quite well for someone who is quite new to MtG and yet to fully understand the stack and instant-speed interactions.
What this deck does manage quite well are good sequences of plays on curve. I'll list a couple here.
Bloodrage Brawler discarding Honored Hydra on Turn 2 is a solid start. Then you ideally drop Rhonas the Indomitable, but Ahn-Crop Crasher or Manglehorn are fine. Turn 4 is when you want to Embalm the discarded Honored Hydra, putting up to 17 power on the board, which is great if you got in early with 4 damage with Bloodrage Brawler on the play if your opponent missed a 2-drop.
A cute mini-theme is the Glorybringer + Arlinn Kord sequence at Turns 4 and 5. Arlinn's +1 on her front side gives a handsome +2/+2 and vigilance, which lets you exert to maximise Glorybringer's exert ability. A 6/6 hasty flyer on Turn 5 that does 4 damage to target creature is serious business.
The rest is just high-value stuff that helps you finish the game. Verdurous Gearhulk can trample through or pump up Glorybringer to go over the top, Hazoret the Fervent uses heckbent to burn them out, and Chandra, Torch of Defiance gives you some reach with her +1 Shock or -3 Cut.
If you wanna say, "Meta? What meta?" and bash your way to simple success, this deck could serve as a good template for some easy fun. High-level players will probably find plenty of answers for this after sideboarding, but Gruul colours are not so demanding with loyalty, which lends for high consistency and good curve.
