Hey there my dear readers!
Thank you and welcome to one off if not my favourite deck! This deck has recieved the most attention out of all my other decks, even though it's the only mono colored one! Before we even start I want to make clear that this deck is not finished or rather I am still unsure if I want to include specific cards "Staff of Domination" for example. But now onto the profile!
Ezuri, Renegade Leader 1GG for a 2/2 ovverun on a stick for elves only. Hmm that's amazing I know right. ;D
So this is my mono green elfball tribal deck. I made the heaviest limitations for this deck I ever did for myself. This brew is dedicated to smashing face and only that. I skimped on all the interaction that is not on a creature with elf on it. No beast within or anything.
The philosophy here is simple: If there is anything I don't like on the board I simply remove the player owning that board from the game. And to my own suprise that works overwhelmingly well!
This deck is definitely nothing for you if:
You are a combat neglecter
Dislike aggro
Like your opponents board wipes
You will like it if:
DAMAGE
Drawing lots of cards
Big flashy turns rather then slowly building up
Handling ridicoulous amounts of mana
Keeping track of 20+ creatures with triggers, summoning sickness etc.
Besides that nothing overly difficult to say for this deck.
I tried to put as many usefull elv creatures in here as possible while maintaining a playable deck and making exceptions where it counts. I couldn't afford to skip cards like sylvan lybrary too good man!
I recently gave the deck a rather big overhaul cutting like 4-5 big creatures like avenger of zendikar and even tooth and nail I even considered cutting craterhoof but on the occasion that you cannot get a decent board fast or ezuri gets removed unpleasantly often you need him.
I have alot of tutors and your prime targets are: Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, Heritage Druid, Beast Whisperer.
Another big part of the deck well not really that big but I think I have every card in green that enables it so as big as it gets is the flash engine. You have vedalken orrery, winding canyons and yeva, nature's herald (also a prime tutor target) the flash is less for the suprise element and more for giving you virtual haste and dodging board wipes. Concordant crossroads is anoter one of those cards, don't just play it because you have it in your opening hand, it's only here for the one big finishing turn!
We have another small pile of important cards quirion ranger wirewood symbiote seeker of skybreak these enable your big heavy mana producers. And have some niche uses that are very cool and funny to exploit and they transision very well into our next section the draw engine of the deck.
Soul of the Harvest, Regal Force, Primoridal Sage, Beast Whisperer, Glimpse of Nature all speak for themselves and there is even more cards like them in the deck. Believe me when I say it gets really really cool when you have one or even two of these cards on board and start going totally crazy casting your entire library in one turn.
We of course have the crazy cards as always with my commander decks, yes sorry I do have a gaea's cradle in here and I would almost say it is needed but it really just makes the deck alot faster, which does mean better but it is by no means necessary!!
Besides Ezuri himself we have some oher pump if we ever need it. Beastmaster Ascension is just amazing you attack once or twice in the early game and ups your 1/1 start to hurt bad time. Triumph of the hordes can easily kill the whole table ecspecially with another pump effect like ezuri. Coat of Arms is tricky it counts for everybody and can get out of hand really fast, bite you back but in 99% of the time it's amazing. Gensis Wave is just a value machine and wins games by giving you a pseudo draw x spell in green you casually will flip the wave for above 30 cards and go off hard from that!
Throne of the god-pharaoh is the only non combat focused win condition, even though I have this wood headed balls to the walls mindset for this deck I wanted a backup plan because a glacial chasm means insta loose for this deck.
Another thing to mention is vernal bloom you have to be carefull because everybody gets the benefit you get the most but still be carefull
One of my favourite cards is wild pair. It's a really expensive entchantment with cmc 6 in this deck but if you have it you suddendly have the feeling that you have 70% of your library in your hand.
Some cards that need to be cut for budget options would be gaea's cradle, and survival of the fittest, other kinda expensive cards like natural order, cratherhoof behemoth and the likes can be just cut and be substituded with similar effects on cheaper cards.
This deck plays kinda similar after a couple rounds but its just my thing I like green, combat steps and elves nothing i can do. I believe that you can make way better mono green decks with for example yisan or selvala but Ezuri was my first deck and has evolved with me I easily invested 40-50 hours just brainstorming this deck and i don't regret it a single bit.
I'd really like your opinion on this deck! Share it and don't forget having fun playing edh with your friends
Thanks for reading!
