To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
"Outdated" Still worth to read though
Wow. Seriously wow. This boy is giving me some serious trouble!
I am far from finished with this and this is like my fifth atempt on building a Riku deck.
Just beware that i build this deck because i was sick of building blue decks with 22023948 counterspells and Riku has no Synergy with them so it seemed hes challenging to build.
There is a control build with him though, play all the flash enablers (Leyline of Anticipation, Vedalken Orrery, Alchemists Refuge, Winding Canyons, Tefery, Mage of Z..., and Seedborn Muse for good control)
So I started with several different versions of a creature toolbox with etb's and a birthing pod which works but it's not my thing and did achive nothing in my playgroup.
That doesn't mean it won't work for you it most likely will but sadly not for me.
Now onto the interessting part. What am I doing now? Well I actually wanted to give up and just leave this commander alone but he seems so cool and the challenge to build him makes me so anxious to finally make him work will feel fckn good. I hope. :D
My aproach with this deck is fairly awkward! I'm playing a combo value midrange aggro lategame creature spell variant... Leave a like and comment don't forget to subscribe and thanks for reading.
Nani? What was that well me and my habbit of bad unfunny jokes just struck again.
I know im to blame for playing such an awkward build but Riku just gives so many options and I'm curently trying to sort this deck out and give it a true identity.
So what does Riku do first of all. Copying your creatures that come into play and the spells you cast for colored mana. He's a five mana 2/2.
Tell me what to do. Yeah well something cool thanks.
I'm really liking sneak attack in this deck because it can get very mana intensive to cast something and then copy it.
I also love extra turns even though they're not that cool and funny for your playgroup but copying these is too strong.
They are also the win condition of the deck you try to have a kiki-jiki and either Eternal Witness/Archaeomancer and an extra trun spell so you get infinite turns
We also play kiki-jiki and zealous conscripts for infinite hasty tokens.
And the rest of the deck is engine.
You try to ramp alot because its a greedy expensive deck.
If you build this deck like me you will have some fun time with random stuff like droping a avenger of zendikar with sneak attack copying him to get 20+ token that get 2 power on every landfall.
So our strategy is to as i said ramp and cast some big stuff to copy it and generate value. Control the threats with the high amount of spot removal. Unfortunatly we don't have white and black which means we are lacking the good board wipes to balance that out i put in some of the artifact bombs. Another difficulty is our commander is really vulnerable and weak on his own. Your games should vastly differ from each other.
Kiki-Jiki and Zealous Conscripts are very good on their own as are the extra turn spells so don't hesitate to play these without the other pieces
I recommend this deck if you like:
Slower gameplans
Taking multiple turns
Spending your mana on your turn
Leting your opponents resolve their good spells and deal with the outcome
Combo finishers
Don't play this if you
don't like going infinite
Dislike extra turns
Want consistent wins
Want a consistent deck
Have a nice day. Im not online often but open for requests and questions.
