This deck's plan is to slow the game down a bit till it assembles a pile of token creatures to attack.

Slow down

This deck is rather slow, so the game needs to slow down for it to have a chance. The pillowfort cards not only protect me from attacks, but also slow the game down since people spend mana on attacking me instead of spells. Rule of law, Crackdown, Aura of Silence, Blind Obedience, and Eidolon of Rhetoric grind the game to a halt till removed.

Ghostly prison, Koskun Falls, sphere of safety, and norn's annex are the 'true' pillowfort cards in the deck. However, if the definition is broadened to include cards that discourage attacks than cards like No Mercy, Crackdown, Aurification, and Kor Haven are as well.

He can't live up to his name, or do his job in this deck, if he is dead in the cmd zone. So Malakir Rebirth, Sejiri Shelter, Lightning Greaves, Shielded by Faith, Flickering Ward, and Swiftfoot Boots are here to keep daxos in the land of the living.

Enchantments do it better

Not really, but this deck wants everything on an enchantment. Land tax and smothering tithe are enchanting "ramp." Seal of doom, Seal of Cleansing, Static Net, Aura of Silence, Cast Out, and Grasp of Fate are enchanting removal. Greed, phyrexian arena, Lilliana's Contract, Tocasia's Welcome, Erebos God of the Dead, and Necropotence are my enchanting card draw. Finally, Cacophony Unleashed is an actual, enchanting boardwipe! What a time to be alive!
