Inspired by some of the best open-world hits of this time like "Fallout 3/4" and "Skyrim", this deck's aim is to leave opponents in aimless misery ten minutes into the game and shaking their head at what happened by the end of it all. So as to give a greater nod to its inspiration, not only has the writing been stripped, but most aspects of combat that aren't near-mindlessly attacking directly have also been removed. By that, I mean the central focus is to blow up the opponent's primary defensive line of creatures through the myriad of spells the deck uses for that purpose. Okay, maybe "myriad" is a strong word to use there, but when it came to Skyrim's spell diversity, I'm sure there were no issues by the developers in using that word to describe it; you could say it just sort of works in that spot.
My deck carries with it a small sub-strategy intended to punish opponents for trying to play the game how they want to. Want to activate some non-Mana abilities? Harsh Mentor is there to ensure you're shilling out Life harder than your own hard-earned money on the tenth iteration of Fallout 4 when it releases next year (probably). Want to block my Creatures? Fantastic, now you've lost a creature to Gifted Aetherborn or Bone Picker because of Deathtouch. If that wasn't enough, Glorybringer, Hour of Devastation, and Yahenni's Expertise keep the board wide open. At the end of all the struggle, the opponent is forced to play the game how you intended it: lifelessly, but determined to find a way to press on despite there being little to no effect on the outcome.
(My rad posting skills aside here, the deck is meant to be serious, and unlike Bethesda's games, I don't intend to leave it unfinished. Expect continual edits. Feedback is always appreciated. Technically the deck isn't finished, but right now, it's finished about as far as I feel I'm able to.)
