Pearl Lake Ancient
may be something to look into. Great for Landfall. Can be played on an opponent's end step, and can evade.

well...without Quest we have to gain time so:
-
Kraken hatchling
is a good blocker
- We have a large amount of spells that allows we to scry a lot (
Sage of Epityr
can also block to gain time)
-
Whelming Wave
is one of the best bouncer for creatures
- And of course Kiora that often win games alone
i think that problems can arrive post side with some enchantments destructor....

A counter spell that scries would mesh well here.
Calculated Dismissal
may be too much mana to be played in time though. Is there a two or one mana version?

Kraken Hatchling
is a good blocker, but offers nothing else.
Embodiment of Spring
on the other hand is a good blocker with early mana ramp.
Whelming Wave
is too expensive to mesh with
Kraken Hatchling
.
Dragon's Eye Savants
would be great if more expensive. Especially if you had counter spells to use and needed info.
Sidisi's Faithful
is good and cheap for stalling and you have a sacrificial lamb with your other one blue mana creature. It also works with
Whelming Wave
. You can use it on itself if you run out of expendable creatures.

In late game i think
Stymied hopes
is little helpful but i really like
Condescend
.
Creatures are all interesting:
Embodiment of spring
is maybe too fragile for my purpose (if it was a 0\4 would be perfect!),
dragon's eye savants
is a wonderful blocker but a little expensive only to watch opponent's hand.
Sidisi's faithful
is the most interesting but i don't know...how many times I would use its effect? bohh
Perhaps I would like something like
enlightened tutor
Many thanks for the stimulus for reflection
