Kiora, The Crashing Wave
« en: Noviembre 07, 2015, 05:31:20 am »
Kiora isn't one for house pets-her favorite creatures are huge sea-dwellers like Inkwell Leviathan and Scourge of the Fleets. When you play Kiora's deck, your goal is to build up your mana in order to cast one of these gigantic, battlefield-dominating creatures.

While Kiora prefers large creatures, she will still utilize smaller creatures if a help her meet her goals. Coiling Oracle and Omenspeaker slow down your opponent's assault while improving your hand, and Man-o'-War can either set your opponent back temporarily or remove a token from the battlefield permanently.

If you're able to cast Kiora's planeswalker card, protecting her is crucial. Kiora's first ability lets her stop one attacker on her own. If you have enough blockers to hold off the rest of your opponent's creatures, you'll be able to get Kiora's loyalty high enough to use her ultimate ability and send forth a crush of Krakens.

To get most of your out of Kiora's deck, it's important to control the pace of play. You have a lot of powerful spells that let you dominate the late game, but you need to live long enough to use them. Don't be afraid to use your creatures to block, as preserving your life total is key. Spells like Peel From Reality and Whelming Wave delay your opponent's attack while also returning creatures like Coiling Oracle and Man-o'-War to your hand for you to cast again. If you have Ætherize in hand, make sure to leave up mana when your opponent is about to send a lethal attack your way.
