Have you considered Stromchaser Mage or thermo-alchemist? The former ups your wizard count while the latter helps get some damage through.

I have, actually, and I still go back and forth on it.  I also considered the Soul-scarred Mage, from Amonkhet.  I just Haven't had the chance to really play-test it all yet. 
Not sure what I would switch out though, I really like the permission piece.
