How many overall lands in an EDH deck?

The full answer would be "it depends on the whole deck."  But I think we can safely say that since Marwyn herself is a mana source.  And green is the absolute best color for mana dorks and mana ramp spells - assuming that you have sufficient ramp in your build - yes.  Cut 4.  Maybe 5.  I've run as low as 32 lands in a mono-green deck.  Omnath, Locus of Mana was the Commander.

My friend has a Marwyn deck and he runs 32 lands. So between them and the other posters in this thread saying what they've ran, I'd say 38 is too much and you could get away with probably 33-34.

But it will depend on the rest of the build like has been previously said.

I also like the safe bet so to speak. In other formats it is suggested at 40% of lands in a deck. So 40% lands in an edh is a good starting point. Yet as previously shown by everyone that it isn't the case

Yeah, I didn't post it on DeckStats. It has a decent amount of ramp with all the 1 drop ramp creatures and is really just an elf tribal casual deck. I flooded a lot, so I'll probably just take out 4 Forests and add 4 card draw spells (maybe the new Guardian Project). I would take out more lands, but I only have somewhere around 7 other ramp spells. I might get some more alongside the aforementioned card draw. Thanks for all the help!

For EDH Guardian Project is another Beast Whisperer. Usually you don't have to care about the restrictions.

I usually put 36 lands and 8-9 mana rocks or ramp cards in there, more or less can be used based on commanders but forlike Thraximundar you'd want more mana rocks for the ramp and maybe a couple less lands.  in green i run a ghalta deck that used about 36-38 lands and lots of ramp but my mana curve is like 4 or 5

Didn't see the need to start a new thread for this, but how many lands in a five color deck?

I run 38 and 8 pieces of ramp in mine but an acquaintance recently told me they only run 32 in theirs with 10 pieces of ramp. Both of our decks include all 10 fetches. Thoughts? 

ETA- both are Sliver decks and both of our average CMC are in the 2.8 range.

With an average CMC of 2.8, I would run 34-36 lands and 8-10 pieces of ramp, depending on which sliver commander it is.

My opinion is that it all comes down to how aggressively you want to mulligan. Fetches only help you hit the colours, not with lands. I think half of your deck should be mana sources (e.g. 37 lands + 13 pieces of ramp) but I break my own rule all the time and suffer the consequences. I want my starting hand to have at least three mana sources that I can use. So two lands and a three mana ramp spell doesn't count.

I usually just dump all the Talismans into a deck and call it a day with 5C. Maybe some of the green 2 cmc ramp spells.
