auto save, or easier save functionality
« on: February 08, 2019, 04:49:59 pm »
really trying to get used to this site.

but yesterday,  spent several hours,  inbetween downtime at work.    adding a new edh deck.       was at the point where i was fine tuning the last 99/100th card.

then  as work was winding down,  i was closing out my browser tabs,  and quick closed the deckstats tab.

and even though i had "created" a deck in the deck builder,  given it a name/title,   and had the deck open for the better part of 5 hrs.   it wasn't saved in any capacity.

Why the fuck would i go through the process of creating a deck in the deck builder,  giving it a name,  and description.   and adding cards to it,  and not want to save it.

why do i then have to specifically,   click analyze,  and then save.   to finally save the deck.    Such a shitty process flow.

decks should be saved,  upon creation.   Or else why have the menus to name it at all?    if you're not actually creating a deck,

please make the options to auto save,   or the buttons to save your decks larger or easier to access.    fuck is the point to a deck hosting site that makes saving your decks convoluted.  Like... put a giant fucking "save" button  right below the "title" descriptor page.    OR... maybe a giant save/create this deck  right at the top in that dead space.   IF you're worried about bloat... or a bunch of orphan decklists.   make any partial or unfinished deck auto delete after 30/60 days if you don't update them....     but... having easier access to saving the decks would go a long way to making this site less frustrating

I am sorry to hear that you had such a frustrating experience with the site! Decks are actually saved at the time when they are analyzed and deleted after a few months, just like you describe. The "Save Deck" button just saves the deck permanently and lists the deck in your profile.

So your deck list should actually still be recoverable! Try to go to your profile and then click on Deck History to see a list of decks that you analyzed but didn't "save".

I totally agree that this could be made more obvious and intuitive though. I will have a think about this and try to make some improvements.
