It's really unfortunate that there aren't any modern instants or sorcery cards that work well with Pestilent Spirit. I'd look into getting your hands on a Blood artist or maybe a Deathgreeter for this deck, they are cheap in CMC and cash.

Thanks for the comment. Deathgreeter a good idea, Blood Artist is nice too but a bit pricey and trying to keep this quite low cost.
