Marionette Master/Treasure Token Deck  (Black/Blue Revel in Riches/Sacrifice Artifact Token)

Hi guys, I need help with one of my decks.

The idea here is to make many treasure tokens and win with Revel in Riches, or to sacrifice the tokens and shoot damage to my opponents with Marionette Master.

Creatures like Sailor of Means, Pitiless Plunderer or Dire Fleet Hoarder help me with the tokens.
Gleaming Barrier is there for protection.
Oathsworn Vampires or ornithopters are cheap creatures that are also there for protection.
Spell Swindle or Cryptic Command help me against spells.
I have cards like Vona's Hunger or Ritual of Soot as protection and to minimize the board.
Dark ritual is supposed to help me with mana problems.

I would like to know what you think of the deck.
I'm always open for improvement.
What cards would you take out or which cards would be a good addition.
Sorry for my English.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hey man, cool idea. I like it.

Here are my thoughts:

The deck is a little all over the place, with lots of iterations of 1 copy and 2 copies of cards. I think it would benefit from a little focus.

Personally I think Marionette Master and Revel in Riches are a little at odds with each other. One wants you to kill your own stuff, and the other wants you to kill your opponents stuff.

I think that Marionette Master is the better option for a win con. Revel in Riches does next to nothing if your opponent is playing a creature light deck. With Marionette Master, you are in charge of your own destiny as it were.

So, we want to get Marionette Master out quickly, and we want to choose to put the counters on her from the Fabricate trigger. This would make here a 4/4 and mean we only have to lose 5 artifacts (generally speaking. Obviously this number will increase if you're up against lifegain shenanigans).

So with this in mind, here's where I'd start:

4 x Disciple of the Vault
4 x Ruthless Knave
4 x Leaden Myr
4 x Palladium Myr
4 x Hope of Ghirapur
4 x Gleaming Barrier
4 x Marrionette Master
4 x Dark Ritual

4 x Card draw spells
4 x Removal spells

20 x Swamp

Here I'd stick to mono black. You can use the Leaden Myr, Palladium Myr and Dark rituals to get Marrionette Master out as soon as possible. Often turn 4, occasionally sooner.
Once she's out, you get to go nuts.

Disciple of the Vault is an excellent one drop in this deck. It's like a mini master and fills out the curve nicely.

Ruthless Knave is a star in this deck. Get him out the turn after the master. You activate a Leaden Myr and Palladium Myr to pay for the Knave's ability, sacrifice one of them to create two treasures. Sacrifice those two treasures and tap a remaining land to activate it again, sacrificing the other myr, creating two more treasures. Sacrifice those two treasures just because. That's 6 artifacts dead and 24 damage in that turn. Of course that's ideal scenario, but I'm sure you get what I mean.

The same kind of thing works for the Gleaming Barrier. Sacrificing it to the Ruthless Knave will trigger the master as well as create a treasure to sac to trigger the master again. HoG can sac itself and fills out the curve in the 1 mana slot so is a nice addition.

That's just my take on the deck. I think it's a really cool idea and would be a lot of fun to play.

As with any deck, this would need playing a few times to see where it is falling short and adjusting accordingly.

Whether what you end up with looks like this or something completely different, I hope you have a lot of fun playing it.

Cheers!

wow thank you, I did not expect that.
You're right, Marionette Master is really the better idea. It is better to focus on one win condition.
I like Disciple of the Vault very much. I even had it lying around at home a few times.
The combination with Ruthless Knave, the Myr and Gleaming Barrier is very cool, I did not even think about it. I'll rebuild the deck and see how it works.
Thanks again for your help. did not think that I would get such a competent and detailed help so fast.

what do you think about Inspiring Statuary to fix the Mana?

Hey man no problem, glad I could help.

Inspiring statuary seems like a decent option given that Marionnette master is a 6 drop. Could help get her out a little quicker and consistently early. Maybe worth running a couple.

If you want to run a few non creature artifacts then costly plunder is worth considering too. It's a cheap and easy way to draw cards and kill your artifacts, especially those that ruthless knave can't get.

Hi! I actually have the same deck as you. It works a little differently but it revolves around Marionette Master. I could list every card that's in the deck for you but I think it's better if you just go and take a look at it yourself. https://deckstats.net/decks/93006/854456-servo-aetherborn-/en
