I'm not sure if it was mentioned before but have you considered adding the reaper from the abyss? This way as you sac your creatures you can maintain a form of board control against your opponents.

If you're still looking to lower the price a bit, dropping Sheoldred for Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker can still provide significant reanimation, especially among your smaller utility creatures.
Fiend Artisan in place of Fauna Shaman cuts down the price a little and tutors straight out to the battlefield at a higher mana cost.
If you do try Shirei, I'd also like to suggest my pet card for Meren decks, Serrated Scorpion, in place of Kokusho. While it won't heal you as much, nor hit as hard in a single go, with Shirei around its overall damage output dramatically outpaces Kokusho until there are only two people left at the table.

Also in my Meren deck i run Fleshbag marauder, plaguecrafter and other similar creatures that have on death edict effects. This along with Tergrid, God of Fright (which is like $5 dollars now) was a great addition since you're already running grave pact. Also having utility creatures such as fertilid can help you ramp in this deck, and even if it dies trying to get you lands it'll keep coming back.
