My play group often does 1v1 so abusing dockside only goes so far otherwise I would be running corpse dance and such

Why Tainted Pact but not Demonic Consultation?

Often will exile cards that I need and with Tainted Pact I can stop whenever I want.

I don't think you understand how the cards work, they do exactly the same thing, you can't just choose to stop with tainted pact (someone please let me know if I am reading this wrong)

With Tainted Pact you either stop whenever you want, or once you reveal two cards with the same name, whichever comes first. With Demonic Consultation you name a card, and keep exiling until you reveal that card. That also means that if the card you name gets exiled in the top 6 cards, you then proceed to exile your entire library.
