mono blue decks... merfolk or illusions?

hi guys

so i built a deck for merfolk and one for illusions but i cant decide which one is better.

in your opinion what should i run generally? and which one would win if these went head to head?

I'm no deck expert, but just wanted to add a couple points. Of course I would drop the deck to 60 cards. I'm more partial towards Merfolk. I haven't seen an illusion deck do well personally and I feel like too many of them are easily removed with stuff that isn't even a removal spell. Merfolk have also been a more competitive deck in mtg than illusions.

ok that sounds like a good idea.

i realise that the illusions would be easy to get rid of but thats why i used alot of counterspells. would that not work?

As long as they become the target of a spell, the illusions are gone. A counterspell´s effect is that the spell doesn´t resolve. Either way, they are destroyed, so counters will not help you saving your illus
