Gives value against smallpox/smokestack.

Can be used with Ghost quarter to get triple landfall triggers in a turn.

Can let you slightly thin your deck when it's triggered.

Gives value for Knight of the Reliquiry

etc etc

Can also become a Tundra or other dual land with Plains type if it's ever removed (fringe applications unless you're running the ghost quarter)
