I'm not sure that modular can permanently add counter on veicles,
Your deck is very aggro so i suggest you
Remember the fallen to take back creatures and artifacts from graveyard
To have modular bonus can be wise to let some artifact creatures die
in this case you can also consider
Myr retriver (better but expensive)
Workshop Assistant (slightly mana consuming but effective)

You could also consider to use some artifact lands.
They are very expensive but can give you a faster reach for metalcraft
