Title: The cost of Frankenstein's Monster
Post by: Cinderella_Cenobite on July 05, 2021, 05:26:08 am
So about 4 years ago I built a silly monster mash deck, and I threw in 3 copies of Frankenstein's Monster (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Frankenstein%27s+Monster) because it was cheap, thematic and... it's fun to use weird counters that magic doesn't do anymore. Recently I've been going through my decks, checking prices and cataloging what cards I own and where they are and I noticed his price is up to like 15 bucks a copy now.

I was just wondering if this was because it found a home in some strange deck as a powerful card somehow, or if it's just because it's an interesting oddity of magic history and the Dark is just that old now.

Thanks in advanced!

It's probably just because Frankenstein's Monster (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Frankenstein%27s+Monster) is on the reserved list, and basically all reserved list cards have been spiking lately.

I mean, Ramses Overdark (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Ramses+Overdark) is like $100. What the hell, people?
