Thank you Judaspriester - I did take prismatic omen out of the deck - I should have enough color fixing among a 3 color deck.
I fixed up some of the lands and added backlash and diabolic intent. I will consider changing my scry lands - they aren't extremely advantageous - I agree with you on that. They just felt more budget.

I like all the cards you linked - will be hard to decide what I want to cut to fit some of those in.

If anybody has recommendations on how to make this better - feel free to leave a comment and link some cards! The primary goal of the deck is to cause opponents to take damage when creatures enter your field or theirs, make them take damage if they hit you, and then make them take damage when one of the creatures die.

Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

My budget can increase quite a bit in all honesty - I started it more toward the low side. I like the sharpshooter and furystoke giant recommendations. Tap for 2 damage on goblins and goblin tokens would be a nice addition. Thank you.

If anybody has any suggestions on how to improve this - let me know! I am trying to keep it semi-budget. :P

I know that there are better options for voltron (like the swords), but I usually try to keep the budget in mind, if I make suggestions.

Btw, I've just calculated: Assuming you'll need Worldslayer and Darksteel Plate or Darksteel Forge to make use of this, you've got a 5.2% chance to draw this until turn 10. I haven't taken the Ring of three Wishes into account, but he won't change the chances that much. If you still want to keep this, its fine. ;)

5.2% is still not bad for a once in a while game shutdown. Not something I want to overly abuse and use anyway. :P
Ring of Three Wishes I have in there for emergency "Oh God I need this now!!!" situations, but it is expensive and not the most convenient tutor. There was a time when I was younger when the budget wasn't as important to me, but sadly Magic: The Gathering can't pay for college. :)

Off-Topic / Re: How Smart Are We?

I think you needed to be decently intelligent to play Magic: The Gathering. There is a lot of bluffing, counterplay, planning ahead, and quick decision making involved. Of course, you can also just run the entire game off luck since, to an extent, rng will always be part of the game. Among my playgroup, I have seen very intelligent people and some not so keen or smart individuals.

I like to consider myself intelligent. I have a B.S in Economic Crime Investigations with two minors. One in Forensic Accounting, the other is in Digital Forensics.

My Social Security Number is 555-55-5555. :P

If you need a slot, I think Ghirapur Orrery would be a good option, since it could help your opponents way more than you.

Greatsword could be replaced with Loxodon Warhammer. same CMC but you also get trample and lifelink. ;)

Deathrender could also be replaced. the effect is nice, but you're lacking scary creatures that could be cheated in with it and 6 mana for +2/+2 is to expensive.

Then I've taken a look for some other equipments:
O-Naginata
Vulshok Battlegear
Barbed Battlegear
Sword of Kaldra

current equipments that could be replaced:
Ogre's Cleaver (cmc 7 for +5/+0, I've mentioned more cost efficient options above)
Worldslayer (very conditional, since you need stuff like Darksteel Plate to make real use of it and you lack of tutors to make this a consistent win condition)

Btw, the important numbers for the power of your commander are 7, 11 and 21 (3, 2 or 1 hit in order to kill someone with commander damage). the numbers in between aren't that important since they tend to produce overkill damage.

That is a good recommendation for removal. Thank you for more of your suggestions, I actually own some of those cards you recommended Judaspriester. I went through my collection and found them while searching for possible other artifacts or equipment to use. I really wish I could afford equipment like the Sword of Fire and Ice or Sword of Feast and Famine. Unfortunately, those are a little pricy at the moment. I agree with Worldslayer being overly conditional, but I have managed to get the weapon out with Darksteel Plate once out of the five times I have played it thus far. It is uncommon but decently humorous to me to keep in (I know there are better choices for a more practical or aggressive Voltron). :P

Thank you Dealda. I considered Mask of Memory to keep draw power in the deck, I still might add them in. Clock of Omens is pretty good too, but I was thinking of possibly adding unwinding clock. If I add them though, then I have to figure out what I should remove to make room. Hard decisions. Thanks for the input.

General Magic / Re: What do you love more? Building decks or playing?
« le: Juin 17, 2019, 09:43:43 pm »
Making and modifying decks has always been fun for me. I have 14 - 60 card decks and 4 commander decks. Some of them I have gotten ideas from others, but many of them were me searching for hours through various cards, finding neat combinations, and making a deck. I do have to say though, that recently making decks has been harder since I have found and made a lot of the decks that really stand out and pique my interest. When I hit these little roadblocks then playing Magic becomes more fun to me. Really depends on sets when they are released and what goofy mechanics I can play with.
