General Magic / Re: Hydra

I just put together a hydra deck for casual mtg night with my friends. It can pop off a turn 4 win if you get lucky with the draw and play it right. It's moves quick, and the strong draw card emphasis means even if you face up against some control, you shouldn't have a problem finding another nasty hydra to play.

Pro tips:
  • Use the manamorphose to trigger managorger hydra stacks before bringing something else in. Sometimes i cycle manamorphose 2/3 times if I have them in my hand and a managorger hydra on the battlefield. It's basically free pump with a draw card effect.
  • Since the Kalonian Hydra and the Curse of Predation trigger at the same time, you can choose which effect applies first. Always choose curse of predation first for obvious reasons. These counters are applied during the declare attackers step, but before defenders and damage are assigned.
4 Curse of Predation
4 Managorger Hydra
4 Primordial Hydra
4 Kalonian Hydra
3 Viridescent Wisps
3 Manamorphose
4 Worldly Tutor
4 Explore
14 Forest
4 Wild Cantor
4 Rancor
4 Sol Ring
4 Llanowar Elves
