thanks but i am not really looking for redoing the deck from scratch but instead to make my the strategy (based on rat colony and thrumming stone) work more so as i said i'd like to keep a high number of rats with the same name ffor it to work.
i considered Karumonix, the Rat King but the tutor is more to draw thrumming stone and not rat cards.
Unearth would be useful but i consider Gravepurge more useful in this kind of strategy.
i am considering Marrow-Gnawer for its secondary effect but it only works for Rat Colony and it will not work if i substitute them with relentless rats.
i had piper of the swarm but i took it out because i didn't use it a lot. the same goes for pack rats; it sound useful but in reality its more of a struggle to use its effect in combo with the strategy.

hi! i am trying to make a aura curse deck based on curse of misfortune, my question is: do i still need to pay the mana cost of the curse i attach to other players with this card or are the free?

for context the card says:
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may search your library for a Curse card that doesn't have the same name as a Curse attached to enchanted player, put it onto the battlefield attached to that player, then shuffle.

it's strange to me that it says "attached" and not play or something along te way, but it's also strange it doesn't mention the fact you should not pay for it so i'm a little bit confused and could not find something about it.

maybe it's a dumb qestion but i am relatively new to magic!

Hi!
this is a deck i made to play with my friend but i would like to make it more functional and strong.
the strategy is based on rat colony and thrumming stone.
here are some of my problems/ things i'd like to fix.
- brain spoil is my tutor, do i need more? i'd prefer to keep more rats possible and reduce the number of other cards to minimum
- right now i use Coat of Arms for its effect but also because it synergize with brain spoil, i am not sure if Door of Destinies (costs less) or Vanquisher's Banner (makes me also draw cards) would be better
- do i need pack rats or should i remove them?
- do i need some card to draw like Village Rites or Night's Whisper?
- Herald's Horn is there to make me draw a little bit and make the rats less pricy. is there a better card or should i put 4 instead of 3?
- the one Echoing Return is like a really late game card that is there just in case things go wrong, i never used it so i never tested if it's effectively useful. should i put 2?
- the big problem with rat colony is that they get no toughness power-up but they work with every other rats so even rat colony or the token it creates, should i subsitute them with relentless rats that gets power-up even on toughness but cost a little bit more and work just with themselves?

(the cards in the maybeboard are the previous version of the deck, it was really slow and not so strong but if you think some of its card were more useful let me know!)

Hi!
i would like to get some help to improve this deck, i use it manly with my friends and have found some problems.
- i always end up without card cards in my hand and it always results in big problems; i tried adding Garruk's Uprising but i am not sure about it.
- i have 2 chatterfang and 2 Parallel Lives, the first one is less pricy but i can only have one at the time, the second one is 1 mana higher in price but i can have multiple and it's really useful but it hardly happens so i'm not sure what to do
- i am not sure of the usefulness of Deep Forest Hermit, sometimes it really helps me but other time is just a useless card in my hand
- i use a combination of arbor elf and Utopia Sprawl as a ramp but sometimes i struggle to get mana
- i also use arbor elf in combo with Squirrel Nest to get some squirrel on the board every turn but i am not sure if it's better to get rid of it
- there are just basic forest as lands forutopia sprawl but i know there is an alternative so let me know if i should make the change and add more variety in lands and let me know if you know some i could use
-should i take out squirrels sovereign? i use it as a initial power up until i can play Chitterspitter but then it becomes useless
- should i put more cards like Utopia Sprawl to make my mana ramp even stronger?

with this card combo i win a lot of times but i would like to make it even better so i really appreciate your help!
(ignore my sideboard and maybeboard i just use them to note some useful cards)

wow thanks Sleyer666, your comment was great and opened up my eyes to some card that were useless and some other useful cards i was not considering.
I reworked the whole deck and changed the strategy a bit; if you want and have time i will really appreciate if you took a look at it and told me what you think! (i explained my thought process in the description if you want to read it to better understand what i did and why) i also made some other decks and i would really like if you check them! I have a big bond with my squirrel deck so if you can take a look at it please! <3
