General Magic / Prowess 2/2 and Ferocious
« on: April 29, 2015, 04:01:54 am »
Let's say I have a 2 power prowess creature such as Seeker of the Way on the battlefield. If I want to hard counter someone's spell with Stubborn Denial, and do so with another non-creature spell such as Twin Bolt, am I correct in thinking that I wouldn't have to cast the Twin Bolt first? Or would the order matter?

As I understand it, I would cast Twin Bolt, activating prowess on Seeker of the Way, and making it a 3/3. Then, in response to Twin Bolt or after it resolves, I cast Stubborn Denial making Seeker of the Way a 4/4 by the time Stubborn Denial resolves. However, it seems to me that the reverse would also work so long as I cast the second spell before the first resolves. By casting Stubborn Denial first, I would boost Seeker of the Way to a 3/3. Then casting Twin Bolt before Stubborn Denial resolves would make Seeker of the Way a 4/4 by the time Stubborn Denial resolves, thus resulting in hard counter. So both situations would be identical as long as the second instant were cast in response to the first. Is this thinking correct?
