Title: Latest deckstats.net updates
Post by: Nils on October 14, 2014, 01:03:37 pm
This is the topic for small updates to deckstats.net that did not warrant their own topic to be announced. :)

Deck.tk short URLs are now also available for saved decks, so you will have a few more characters available to write when posting your deck on Twitter! :)

Inspired by a question here on the forums (http://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/topic,6023.0.html) I just added a new page to user profiles, which shows you every deck that the user has liked. :)

This way you can just "like" a deck that you find interesting and then look at your list of liked decks later to find it again.

I have also changed the look of the like-button - it is now a star instead of the thumbs-up symbol.

I made some small changes, but nothing that should have caused any big problems. What happens when you try to use it? Do you get an error message?

Obvious troubleshooting questions:
Deleted cookies/temporary internet files?
Updated flash (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=de&card=Flash)?
Have you installed Noscript and somehow have to unblock certain scripts again?
Tried a different browser? (IE is discontinued afaik)

Hmm, I can't identify any problems using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows. Could you answer a few more questions for me, so that I can find out what is causing the problem?

1. Which version of Internet Explorer are you using?
2. Have you disabled JavaScript or installed any extensions/addons that are supposed to block scripts or advertisements? Could you try disabling them?
3. Can you try to reload the page by pressing Ctrl + F5?

I have installed IE 9.0

ctrl F5 doesn't work

do you want me to send you a screenshot?

I just made a few small improvements to our deck builder (http://deckstats.net/deckbuilder/en/) and the collection manager! (http://deckstats.net/collection/?lng=en)

When you search for a card by name in the card database, you can now press Enter to immediately add the first search result to your deck. You can then immediately start typing the next card name to search again. You can even press Shift+Enter to add 4 copies at once and Alt+Enter to add the cards to your sideboard instead. So using this, you can quickly type in a whole list of cards without using your mouse!

In addition, you can now click on the amount in the card list to edit it, instead of having to click on the pencil icon on the right.

I hope this makes things a bit more convenient to use!

Is there a way to add tokens used in decks?  Is there a way to add notes to each card (ie card substitutions)

Oath of the Gatwatch is now out. When you post a deck with cards from that set they will have a * next to them signifying that they are not out yet. This is not needed now.

I just made a few changes to the page layout: The language setting is now at the bottom of the page (after all, you rarely need to change that) and an improved user menu has taken its place. Apart from looking better, this also has the advantage that the user menu is now available in the forums as well.

I also updated the user and menus in the mobile version to make this a bit nicer.

When you save changes to a deck, you will now have the option of also posting a comment with a list of your changes. This makes it much easier for everyone to keep track of your revisions and also draws more attention to your deck!

Here is an example:

I've had an idea for a new feature for a while now:
How about next to the Mana Curve graph that displays the types of cards there would be another that shows the Mana Colours needed in the different CMC beams?
For example in CMC1 there are 2 red cards and 1 green, cards in CMC2 need 2 red mana, 3 green and 5 colourless, ...
That way one could easier adjust the Mana Base to the colours that are needed in the first few rounds of the match instead of simply comparing ratios.

I would also really like this feature, as it would make it much clearer what sort of ETB untapped lands I should have.

Cheers!

We have recently made some changes to the mobile version of DeckStats: The charts on the deck page have now been moved into a separate tab and the list of folders on the user profiles is now collapsed by default. So hopefully the most important content is now even easier to access! In addition, we have also made a few more cosmetic changes, including updating the icons used in the menu bar.

Please let me know what you think about these changes!

Don't know if this as been reported yet, but I have an error with the EDH suggestions tab.
"Erreur: OK" instead of the cards.

Thanks for your work!

Hi,

as my first post I want to start with a big thank you, I am grateful that this extraordinary site is available for us, and it is my primary tool for brewing.

I have a few small thoughts I'd like to adress to you:

* A few months ago you made it so that the browser informs you about "unsaved changes" with a client-side popup. I do not like the popup. Disabling the popup via the browser did not help. Was this "feature" added because some users were complaining that they were losing changes because they didn't know how the site works? That's unfortunate. If I could disable this popup in my personal options, that would be nice.

* I like to use the "Starting Hand" feature. I choose a new hand and then click 5 times on "add new card" to see what I'll be having in the fifth/sixth round. It would be helpful if the cards had a number next to them, so that after the first 7 (starting hand) I would see that a card would be the n-th card that I would draw from my library.

* The "Starting Hand" feature is not so useful on mobile, because the cards are too big for the screen. In portrait orientation, only one card is visible on my mobile. In landscape orientation, two cards side-by-side. That is not good for an overview. I would appreciate a change in the display size, however big you think might be good so that you can see a few cards at once.

* The change in the card display size would also be good for other areas with mobile phones, i.e. for the visual spoiler list. Again, only two cards on the screen takes away from the feature.

These are probably low-effort changes and I'd be happy to see them accepted on your behalf. I had these on my mind for a while and was wondering how you would like this feedback.
Title: Re: Small Updates
Post by: Nils on March 15, 2017, 06:35:37 pm
Thank you very much for your feedback! All of these are great suggestions and I will try to implement them soon!

The popup was indeed added because people would think their decks were saved already and then lose them when they close the tab. I can add a setting for this but I'm curious why you don't like it - do you often start analysing a deck but then close the window?
Title: Re: Small Updates
Post by: Triezknilch on March 16, 2017, 07:31:28 pm
Reproduction steps:

This leads to the browser popup that asks me if I want to leave the page; which means it occurs in my normal workflow when editing the deck (I usually do a series of changes in small iterations). And actually, changing something in the deck list wouldn't even be necessary for the popup to appear in the first place.
I don't forget (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=de&card=Forget) to save my changes; the popup might be helpful to some, but a small distraction for others.

Glad to see good spirit about feedback here!

I don't know if it's just me, but I liked the old version of it much better.

The "unsaved deck" warning (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=de&card=Warning) should no longer be displayed if you simply resubmit a deck after making changes (this was actually a bug). Hopefully this should make a setting to disable this warning (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=de&card=Warning) unnecessary!

Fixed! So now it is unnecessary to provide a personal setting to disable this warning (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=de&card=Warning). :)

Btw, I noticed on mobile that the starting hand layout is a off center (to the left) http://imgur.com/3IU3yy5

Hi, thank you for the updates, I noticed the change for the partner commanders, that's great.
Things I would like are:
- the possibility to exclude (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Exclude) the comments when you download your deck list. (annoying for Cockatrice)
- I didn't find how to filter on common/uncommon/rare/mythic in the deckbuilder part.
- I didn't find how to filter on multicolored in the deckbuilder part.
- As I build a lot of commanders, it would be great to identify in the database search window the cards that are already in the deck list. (colored in red or something).
- Maybe a feature to help with the manabase like the manabasecrafter.com website.

Or let me know if I didn't find them.

Thank you again for the website.  :D

Hello,

love the site, but when I am trying to search for decks containing Vampire Nighthawk (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Vampire+Nighthawk) it keeps coming up with nothing.  I have tried numerous ways to spell with caps and such but no luck.  I have seen and added myself the card but nothing on searches.

thank you

A few small updates this week:
- You can now choose whether or not to include card comments when downloading a deck.
- A a rare problem with empty card names caused by invalid characters in the deck list should now be resolved
- Correct card images should now be shown for most recent sets (you may need to clear your cache to see them)
- Custom sets are no longer shown with their ID (eg. [#123]) in deck lists. Instead, the set abbreviation will be used (eg. [EMA]).
- If you select a custom set for a card it will now always be shown in the deck list, even if the card has not actually been associated with that set in our database (until now it would just show a question mark)
- It's now easier to copy + paste the deck URL from the Share tab on iOS/Safari.

One more update: When you search for cards in the interactive deckbuilder, cards that are already in your deck are now shown slightly grayed out. That should make it a lot easier to find new cards to add to your deck!

+1 for this feature!

The one thing I'm hoping for in a future update is an 'Unstable" option for format of deck. That way there could maybe be an integrated area to better list contraptions.

More so that if you include Contraptions in the deck list it will consider them in the opening hand and mana cost chart I believe. I just figured using the Sideboard option for the Contraption deck would be a work around for now. I guess it's because the cards aren't considered to be in the same deck as Contraptions use a separate library from the main deck. Nothing major of course and Unstable constructed will probably account for very little decks.

I put them in the maybeboard area because they are not subject to the same restrictions as Sideboard, though they have restrictions.  A contraption deck must have a *minimum* of 15 cards.  The only reason I'd do this is because when making an Unstable deck, my playgroup still constrains the *other* cards to the Modern banlist.

It's probably a hard thing to code for since there is only *one* actual format that uses a separate deck.  I wonder (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wonder) if it might be easier, from a coding perspective, to add an option to add "extra deck" section.  Right now, when you use the deck creator, you can add classifications for //land, //spells, //non-creature spells etc.  Maybe an option to add a "extra deck" option under sideboard and maybeboard.  It would also allow you to make a planechase deck, should you be interested in doing so (I am XD).

There have been some updates to the deck pages that should make them load significantly faster, especially on slower connections. Thanks to these changes, you can now also select deck details columns directly without reloading the page, by clicking the little columns icon on the top left of the table. Please give it a try!
Title: Re: Small Updates
Post by: Charles T. on March 09, 2018, 11:45:32 am
Hi,

I notice a change but I don't know if it's an intended change or not  :D

When you're on the "Details" tab, you got the Mana Curve with the average cost of the spells : "Mana Curve - X (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=X) avg."

On the same tab, if you display the "mana" column, at the bottom of the page you can see something like : "N cards Y avg."

I think the X (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=X) value is calculated without the lands in minds while the Y value is calculated with de lands in mind. It was not the case a little while ago  ;)

X (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=X) = ∑(mana_cost) / N - L where L is the number of lands
Y = ∑(mana_cost) / N

Title: Re: Small Updates
Post by: Soren841 on March 09, 2018, 02:45:42 pm
Lands dont have a mana cost of 0. They dont HAVE a mana cost. May be why.
Title: Re: Small Updates
Post by: Nils on March 11, 2018, 06:19:53 pm
Thank you for reporting this Charles! This is indeed an unintended change that was a side effect of some performance improvements that I added recently. I think the more "correct" number is probably the one excluding lands, so the one shown above the chart and on the Overview tab. I will try to change the one at the bottom of the details page soon.

Hi Nils,

This is the message I get on the "Details" tab of my Lord of the Unreal (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lord+of+the+Unreal) deck.

"This deck does not appear to be legal in Legacy!

Problems: Not legal in this format: Rishadan Port (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Rishadan+Port)."

You can find my decks here https://deckstats.net/decks/51702/?lng=en

The problem seems to indicate that cards from "25" are not allowed (yet) in Legacy.

Another thing I find strange :
The Rishadan Port (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Rishadan+Port) version in my deck is Mercadian Masques. This is also indicated in my list.
Yet when you hover over the cardname like in this post it shows the "25" version.
Title: Re: Small Updates
Post by: Nils on March 12, 2018, 10:53:04 pm
Thank you! Your link helped me track down the problem. The problem wasn't actually A25 per se, but it was that the card accidentally got removed from MMQ while I was updating A25. So it didn't realise that the card was also printed in MMQ and thus legal.

I have fixed this now. Your deck should show up as legal again. If you notice any more problems like this, please let me know!

In the Details View, the custom // sections have been removed. It seems that only //Spells, //Creatures and maybe //Lands are still allowed, but I haven't looked into that. I do use those sections heavily with custom descriptions (i.e. //CMC 2 or //Artifacts or //Deny etc. etc.). I would like for the custom sections to be restored. They are still in the Overview tab.

Our deckbuilder will now save regular backups of your deck list. If you accidentally leave the page, just reopen the deckbuilder and you will see a message that gives you the change to restore (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Restore) the last deck you were working on!

This feature required quite a few changes to the deckbuilder code. If you encounter any weird problems with the deckbuilder that may have been caused by this, please let me know.

Looks like it's working right now. Thanks Nils, for the quick response and for deckstats being a great tool overall!!

This works great! It's already saved me time twice when I forgot to save a new idea.

I tried the Collection function, just starting with just a few of my most collectible cards to be able to have quick reference to value changes. The input was easy, even on mobile. Selecting the set for each card works really well, which isn't always the case on mobile with some of the buttons/columns without the benefit of the precision of a mouse and pointer.

Thanks for all the small changes; they add up quickly making this site even better!

Thank you for your kind words!

I have actually just made some further improvements to the collection manager: You can now add cards directly by collector number and you can now show/hide (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hide) the different card entry boxes (eg. card database, manual card entry, ...) to save some space. This should be especially useful on mobile!

In addition, I have also replaced some of the old Alert boxes (such as "Collection saved" and "XX cards added to your collection") with less disruptive notifications in the corner.

Another collection update: you can now set your collection to private if you don't want it to be visible to other users (under Manage Collection)

You can now include card names in two square parentheses to force the card name to be linked, e.g.: [[Forest]] (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest). This will work here in the forums, as well as in deck descriptions.

For most card names this should not be necessary since they are already recognized automatically (e.g.: Island (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Island)). However, there are some cards that I don't link automatically because they are often used as normal words. For example, Sorry, Brawl or Arena are not linked, but [[Sorry]] (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=sorry), [[Brawl]] (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Brawl) and [[Arena]] (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Arena) will be!

I have just made some improvements to our deck builder (https://deckstats.net/deckbuilder/) to make it more efficient and intuitive to use:
Thank you to Phil from Commanderin' for his helpful comments!

In addition, I have also made some improvements to your deck folders (https://deckstats.net/decks/mine/): You can now sort decks by price and color, and you can easily re-sort the decks using the option at the bottom of the page. Previously you could only sort by name or date, and could only change the order by updating your folder settings.

@Nils, would it be possible for you to add the "literal" name filter back? I know I could use double quotes in the search, but that slows me down a lot when searching for and putting in a lot of cards from memory.

Hi, any plans to add a "save now" button next to "analyse now"? When I'm making a quick edit it would be a time saver to avoid having to go through the analyse process.

Great site, thank you - was such a revelation (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Revelation) for me when I found this after managing decklists in excel.

Since about September, I get the following error after I import my collection or when I try to view it:

Unexpected error while loading collection - too many load attempts

I wonder (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wonder) if this is related to the recent updates.
My import csv file has about ~10,600 rows. Is that too many?

I just updated the card search so that it will now always show exact name matches on top of the results. So if you search for an actual card name you should now always see that card before any other cards and can add it by pressing enter. Hopefully that will solve this problem?

10,600 rows is quite a lot, but it shouldn't break it completely. It will just be slow. When exactly do you get the error? When you import the file? Or when  you go to view your collection after having imported it?

I have seen that a new section of "Editions" has been created in which in theory we could update the copies that we have in our collection of a specific edition, but in doing so it is only seen in that screen. When I go to see my collection in "Your collection" these changes are not reflected.

Is it planned that this can be implemented soon?

I have changed it now so that it only matches the beginning of names. So now when you search for "add" you will still get two other cards that begin with "add" but no longer two pages. I hope that works for you?

Note that you may have to clear your cache or wait a day or two before you'll see the changes.

I'm sorry, I am not sure if I understand you correctly. Are you saying that when you specify the set (Expansión) of a card in your collection manager (Administrar Colección), this is not displayed when you view the collection?

Did you click the "Save Collection" (Guardar Colección) button at the bottom of the page?

Is it possible that you have disabled the "Set" (Expansión) column under "Columns" (Columnas) when you view the collection?

Hi,

could it be that due to the latest changes one can only add new sections in the Edit mode within the main section? Previously, I was able to create several sections outside the Main section and other pre-existing section to group cards into categories before deciding which cards go to the sideboard or the main section. Is this a bug or a feature?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

I am not sure I understand you correctly - I did change how the custom sections are displayed in the deckbuilder but I didn't actually change how they work. Custom sections were always counted as part of the main deck. So nothing should have changed other than the way the sections are grouped on the deckbuilder page.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Can you just remove the "Regroup cards by" button? It's very annoying when I try to click it and it says "That button doesn't do anything anymore!" It might as well either not be there or the change should be reverted. I get the need for a transition period but please remove it as soon as possible please.

Otherwise, good changes thank you :)

I have just made some changes to our collection checker (ie. missing cards). Previously, cards that were listed twice in a deck (for example in the main deck and in the sideboard) were not being counted properly. This should now be fixed!

For example, imagine you had 1 Forest (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest) in your collection and then played it once in your main deck and once in your sideboard. The old collection checker would think that that's alright because it does not consider the two Forests together. The new collection checker will detect that they are the same card and show the second Forest (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest) as missing.

Please let me know if you notice any issues around the collection checker.

PS, this has also been removed now:

Hi - Is there anyway to organize your collection into folders? I'd really like to be able to look up a card in my collection, and then know where the physical card is stored. It can be done with the comment I guess, but it would be so much work...
If collection folders is not possible could it be possible to bulk edit comments on cards?
Thanks, and thanks for a great site!

I have just made some updates to our deck overview tab! Most of the changes were to the underlying code rather than the the way the page is displayed. Hoever, one thing you will notice immediately is that we now show mana costs next to each card name. In addition, when you highlight a set of cards by clicking on one of the charts (eg. all creatures or all CMC1 cards), they are now also highlighted in the overview. And finally I fixed a bug where lands were not always kept separate when grouping by color.

Could you make this optional ? Perhaps in the card table selection menu...
It's toooo much information in the overview. I got overwhelmed by it  :o

I agree that the mana costs didn't look very nice initially. I have just made them a bit greyed out and also right-aligned them to make them look more organized. Is this better already or do you think you'd still need a setting to disable this?

Greyed out is better.  I don't think that the right-justification helps anything.

I would also like to disable this.  Even with the greyed-out.

I think the real visual problem is that the mana costs are graphically too big.  They feel about twice the size as the font of the card name.

Thanks.

That sounds like you are getting caught by our web (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Web) firewall. It's definitely not your username though. But something about the device you are using or what you are doing is making you look like a bot.

If this happens again, could you please take send me any additional information displayed on the page? There should be something like a ray ID and an IP address listed somewhere. If your IP address is not listed, it would be great if you could look that up (just google for "ip") and send it to me.

There should be a tick box for this already - where are you trying to turn it off? And, just out of curiosity (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Curiosity), why?

Personally I think if a card could be corrected you should be promoted and you could decide yes or no, or just turn off the prompts, as that feels like a good middle ground. I dunno, every spoiler season I always have to fight corrections because in general they're helpful so I don't want to disable them but card that aren't in the database always get messed with.

Vaevictis Asmadi (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Vaevictis+Asmadi), the Dire

Hi, Dwarven Mine (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=de&card=Dwarven+Mine) has a wrong picture.

Hi,

all cards in my collection are not labeled with a triangle symbol indicating that the card name is unknow. This is true now for all cards in my collection. Any idea why this is the case?

Hello,

Dwarven Mine (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Dwarven+Mine) card has Dwarven Miner (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Dwarven+Miner) attached to it.

Thank you for reporting the wrong card image showing up for Dwarven Mine (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Dwarven+Mine), this has now been fixed.

Ober25, I'm working on the issue with the collection manager right now.

The issue with the "unknown card name" message being shown for all cards in large collections has now been fixed, thank you for reporting this @Ober25.

Other changes:
- You can now specify a maximum deck age in the collection deck tutor
- When you build a deck from your collection, cards you add to your deck will be added with the set you specified in your collection
- The deckbuilder now has a maximum width, which means it won't stretch out too much anymore when you have a very wide screen

Thank you for all of your suggestions stebobibo! I will be looking into all of these but one thing I have already added now is a "Do not group" option for decks. So you can now, for example, remove all sections from your deck and sort by price. Hope this helps :)

The collection counter on the set pages will now also show up for cards with multiple printings, even if you haven't explicitly specified a collector number. That means that you no longer have to go and specify these manually to make them show up correctly.

I have also just moved a bunch of suggestion posts to a separate thread here: https://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/topic,53290.0.html

Please use that thread for future suggestions and feedback, so that we can use this thread for actual update announcements.

And an update to our "Add to collection" feature: The plus button now no longer turns into a delete button after adding the first copy, so you can click multiple times to add many cards. This works in decks as well as on set pages.

Two updates today:

Title: Card data updated
Post by: Nils on May 02, 2020, 06:43:12 pm
I have just updated a big part of the backend code responsible for retrieving and storing card data. You should not notice any major differences because of this but it should improve the speed of our site a bit and will also enable some new features in the future.

This did allow me to make some small improvements already:
If you notice any problems related to card data (for example missing data, card names not being found, or data for the wrong printing being shown) please let me know.
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates
Post by: Nils on September 06, 2020, 04:37:15 pm
A relatively small but hopefully useful update today: Selecting sets/printings for cards should now work much more reliably. This is particularly useful when editing very large collections, which previously required you to click on "Show full data" to see the list of available printings. In addition, you will now also see a preview of each printing as you hover your mouse over it.
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates
Post by: Nils on September 20, 2020, 10:38:52 pm
I have made a few cosmetic changes to the deck pages, the deckbuilder and our set pages. This includes a new cleaner table design, improvements to the look of the card info popup on small screens and the collection status being displayed for Maybeboard and Token cards. I have also updated the Deckbuilder to hide the "Main" section if you are using custom sections. If you do want to have a section called Main in addition as one of your custom sections you can always add it back manually.

If I broke anything or something still doesn't look right please let me know.

I made some more changes to the codebase and the UI today - most of them won't have any visible effects but two improvements you might notice are that the charts above the deck list have been improved a bit and that the "Foil" and "Pinned" columns in the collection manager now display the respective icons instead of a simple check box.

The menu on top of the page has received a bit of a facelift to make it more intuitive to use.

On desktop, the link to your collection has moved to the left part, the username has moved to the right and redundant entries have been removed. The link to your deck folder is now represented by a folder icon to make it easier to find.

On mobile, all options are now available through the single "Menu" button instead of the two separate menus we had before. The login dialog on mobile has also been updated.

You can now get an estimate of how much your collection could sell for directly from the collection manager. This is provided by our partner Card Conduit (https://cardconduit.com?affiliate_id=deckstats&utm_medium=estimate), who can also handle the whole selling process for you. Go to your collection page (https://deckstats.net/collection/) and click the Get estimate button to check it out!

Some small updates/bugfixes:

- You can now specify Commanders for Casual decks as well (by clicking on the pencil icon and then ticking the box).
- Sorting collections by Cardmarket price should now work properly.
- Deck lists in the deck comments board are now being displayed correctly again.
- Decks that don't have any cards in their main board should no longer result in error messages.
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates
Post by: Nils on January 26, 2021, 09:05:28 pm
Two more small but hopefully useful changes:

1) When you filter cards by type, you can now also use "Spell" to show all types of spells at once.

2) When you when are managing your collection, have applied a filter (like Rarity (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Rarity) = Rare or Color = Red) and press "Select all", this will now only select cards that pass the filters. This should make it a lot easier to select all cards of a certain color, rarity (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Rarity), etc and apply changes to them. If you do want to select all cards in your entire collection, make sure that all filters are disabled.

The same is true when you use the buttons "Clear all", "All +1" or "All -1" on the set pages while having filters applied.

As usual, please post in our feedback forums if you have any questions.

Two updates today:

- You can now search for symbols like {W} or {T}, power/toughness definitions like 3/1, and P/T modifiers like +1/-1 in our card database.

- When you tap card names on a small screen, you'll now see a full screen card image instead of the card preview box you'd get on a bigger screen. Tap on the image to go to the card preview page, or anywhere else to close the preview again.

When you edit a card in the deckbuilder or collection manager you can now also edit its name in addition to its other properties.

I have also made a small change to what happens when you change the set of a card. This shouldn't have any obvious effects but if you notice anything strange going on please let me know!

I have just completed a major overhaul of our Cardmarket (MKM) price data. The prices should now be more accurate, get updated more frequently and be available for many more printings than before. If you notice anything wrong, please get in touch.

Update: I have now also updated our Cardmarket card links. Clicking on a price will now take you straight to the page for that specific printing, rather than to the overview page for that card like it did before.

I have just added a new counter to our deck pages that shows you how often a deck has been copied. You can search for all copies of a deck by clicking on the number, and then use the arrow icons on that page to compare the copies to the original deck.

For an example, see here the bottom right of the Overview tab here: https://deckstats.net/decks/82803/752805-competitive-krenko/en#no_deck_link

Note that the counter will only show up if there is at least one copy of the deck, and it only includes public decks.

Based on a question in our feedback forum (https://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/topic,61002.0.html) I have just changed our collection CSV export to always return set codes in the 3-letter (product code) format. Previously these could sometimes be in a different format which was based on the old codes used by WotC.

I think that for the majority of people the new codes will be much more useful than the old ones, since they will more closely match the format used by most other sites these days. But if this causes problems for anyone because they were relying on the old format, please let me know and I can look into adding it back in.

I have made our collection manager about cleverer about how it keeps backups of unchanged changes on the Manage Collection and how it warns about them. In particular, you will now also be warned about an existing backup if you try to make changes to your collection in other places, for example by adding cards from a deck or set list.

On the other hand, you will no longer be told about an existing backup if you have made other changes to your collection since it was created.  This is to avoid people restoring outdated backups by accident.

If you notice any problems related to this, please let me know.

Small forum update: When browsing our forum pages (eg. https://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/board,1.0.html) you can now see how much karma the first post in each topic has received.
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates
Post by: Nils on May 22, 2021, 01:00:09 pm
And one more update: A few card names, such as Karma (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Karma) or Override (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Override), will now only be recognized as card names if they are capatalized or in double brackets ([[override]] (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=override)). If they are written in lowercase, like karma or override, they will no longer be turned into card links. This is to avoid confusion when commonly used words are also card names, like "karma" in my post above.

If you notice any other issues with our automatic card name linker, please let me know.

Three small bugfixes today:

- The {2B}, {2U}, etc mana icons will now show up correctly on card info overlays [thanks Shafi5557]
- Sorting by color will now show single color cards (colorless or only one of W, U, B, R, or G) before multicolor cards [thanks Kiatight]
- The 'merge lines with the same card name' option will no longer merge cards if their sets, collector numbers, foil status or overrides are different [thanks egj100812]

More hopefully coming soon.

I am hard at work on our new themes (including a dark mode theme), so things have been a little quiet here lately. However, I did just make a few small bugfixes and improvements:

- If there are multiple printings of a card in a set it will now only be counted once on our set breakdown pages (https://deckstats.net/set-breakdown/Innistrad%3A+Midnight+Hunt/)
- I have fixed a bug when adding cards with duplicate names to your collection from the set pages
- I have made the "Session refreshed" message less annoying
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates

Good news: The "Missing Cards" dialog and the collection indicators on our deck pages have now been updated to take into account whether cards are actually available or not! This means that we can now detect when collection cards are already being used in another deck marked as "active" and will update the counter accordingly. Please give it a try!

This is an exciting update not only because it will hopefully be useful to many of us, but also because it is the first contribution to Deckstats by Tom Emelko! Tom recently volunteered to help improve Deckstats and has done a great job here. Thank you very much! I am looking forward to the next addition :)

Small Deckbuilder update: We will now save a backup of your deck in your browser if you have clicked the Save button but the process has failed for some reason. For registered users this should hopefully be very rare, but for guests it was previously possible to lose a deck they were working on by navigating away from the Deckbuilder before logging in.
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates

Some small updates today:

The order of saved decks should now always be consistent when sorting by color (they could previously shift around between page loads). Refreshing the page will now also retain the deck order you have selected.

The card probability calculator now properly accounts for Commanders, dropping them from the calculation. This will result in a marginal increase in card probabilities for Commander decks, with larger changes for decks with two Commanders.
Title: Re: Latest deckstats.net updates

Another two small updates - this time some UI improvements in our collection manager:

You can now jump (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Jump) to the first/last page instead of having to click through your collection page by page. These buttons are also available when viewing sets.

When viewing a collection, you can now display the collector number as a separate column and use it for sorting.

Vintage/Commander legal cards from [UNF] Unfinity should now show up correctly in the card database. Previously, you had to select "All cards" to see them.
