Title: [EDH] Shrines (Go-shintai of Life´s origin)
Post by: MagicSwordsman on December 01, 2023, 11:33:21 pm
Hi!
I build a shrine deck with Go-Shintai of Life's Origin (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=de&card=Go-Shintai+of+Life%27s+Origin) and I would like to hear your thoughts about it! It´s my first 5-color deck :)

The mana base plays a little slow right now, and will keep you a turn behind until midgame. Maybe look at replacing some of the triomes with shock (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Shock) lands so you can rush out additional colors as needed. I like the gates for being able to have more flexibility in filling out the color wheel.

I don't think Anikthea, Hand of Erebos (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Anikthea%2C+Hand+of+Erebos) goes well with Shrines because she'll be exiling them, and you already have graveyard play from your commander. Instead, try to get value out of sacrificing enchantments or having enchantments ETB. Constellation (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Constellation) effects or cards like Ghen, Arcanum Weaver (https://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=en&card=Ghen%2C+Arcanum+Weaver) would work great for this, the latter giving you a cheaper bounce than the commander.

The deck is on budget and that´s why I don´t play shock (https://www.mtg-forum.de/db/magiccard.php?utf8=1&lng=de&card=Shock) lands.

But you´re right, anikthea isn´t that good.

Thanks for the tips!
