Title: I need some advice.
Post by: Chronologist on July 02, 2017, 09:29:27 pm
Basically, looking at the horrible cards coming out of Hour of Devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hour+of+Devastation), I would like some ideas for cards and strategies that will help me counter it.

Should I look for creatures who have 6 toughness so they can survive? Should I run Sigarda, Heron's Grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sigarda%2C+Heron%27s+Grace), to stave off (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Stave+Off) that enchantment that makes creatures virtually useless? And if I do that, is green/white naturalize (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Naturalize) the best route to take?

Or am I better off going blue/green so I can use Negate (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Negate) and other counterspells, and use the green to boost my creatures' health so they can withstand (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Withstand) anything?

I don't know what to do.

Imo you should just focus on improving your best deck. Look at which cards in it are rotating out, and look for cards in the new set that would go good in it. Maybe that includes adding protection from the new set's removal, it's up to you. If you're asking something else entirely, could you restate your question please

 This is something that I do that usually helps:
1) look at all the color combos that the particular set is capable of playing.
2) Find a color pairing that feels comfortable to you (the most important part of this list).
3) See how it stands up against the other color pairings you came up with.
4) see which one is right for you.

 Essentially the list is about looking at the options available and deciding what you are good at using. I'm good at using any deck that has Black as one of the color pairings because I can use black as either a control or destruction based color. I can make the downside of that card be a plus for me depending on how I build the deck. Whit is something that I myself want to become better at. I'm good at protecting and strengthening my creatures and Protection is something that I value. The ideals of the cards I'm comfortable with but not really the cards themselves. I'll use them if I have to.

   Going off of my example you need to find what you like in this set and build off of that. You can't really ask someone what you should play because if you don't like it then that's just a wasted investment. Try looking at both the Amonkhet and the Hour of Devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hour+of+Devastation) sets in their entirety, read over the cards and see what catches your appeal. Because The answer I would give you to your question would be anything ZOMBIE related. Other than that I encourage you to find your own deck and be comfortable with it.

 @inigo, were you trying to recommend those cards to Chronologist? The deck he is building is going to be standard and none of those cards would be applicable.

G. Moto is right, iñigo, but I thank you anyway.  Those look like great cards to consider were I making a new commander deck.

The Hexproof that Sigarda, Heron's Grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sigarda%2C+Heron%27s+Grace) grants to humans would not stop the red remove indestructibility (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Indestructibility), deal 5 damage to all.  It would put a temporary reprieve against you getting the curse (because you would have hexproof) but not protect your creatures being affected if you were already cursed (because the effect is not targeted).  Best bet colors would be white and green and maybe red for enchantment destruction (sideboarded in).  For the red spell, big beefy creatures (green) or control (blue) would work.  Speaking with regards to Modern, Solemnity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Solemnity) will just wreck/ruin infect decks... Not to mention Energy and counters decks in standard.

 Well there are two ways to go about this: 1) build a deck where you WANT your creatures to die in order to cause negative effects to your opponent, or 2) Create strong creatures to survive the onslaught (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Onslaught) of bolas.  I've never been one to lie down and take a beating but if you've got graveyard recursion then it'll be easier for your creatures to rise from the grave (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Rise+from+the+Grave) for their comeback. If you want to outlast anybody you can always try and go Abzan or Bant (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bant).

G. Moto is correct, although that won't stop an uproar about Overwhelming Splendor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Overwhelming+Splendor) ,Hour of Devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hour+of+Devastation) and Solemnity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Solemnity).  I think those three cards will likely be the cause of much complaining, particularly in EDH and Modern where large amounts of cash have been spent on decks practically crippled by those three cards.  White/Black zombies with Plague Belcher (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Plague+Belcher), Liliana's Elite (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Liliana%27s+Elite), Relentless Dead (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Relentless+Dead), Tattered Mummy (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Tattered+Mummy) and Wayward Servant (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wayward+Servant) would likely do some damage while having options to take out Overwhelming Splendor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Overwhelming+Splendor).

Well - and I'm just spitballin' here - if the impact you are concerned about is Bolas, I'd say you either out-Bolas your opponent or you use the other two colors, White and Green.

Enchantments, lifegains, enchantment/artifact killers, white flyers and exilers, green ramp and reach, fight Bolas' neverending spells with artifacts like Oracle's Vault (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Oracle%27s+Vault).

Cheer up! Bolas specifically advertised The Devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Devastation) would only last an Hour  :D

All of those are good suggestions. So as far as the ability canceling you could always try Gideon's Intervention (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Gideon%27s+Intervention) to stand strong against the hour of devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hour+of+Devastation). Cast out (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Cast+Out) for the Overwhelming splendor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Overwhelming+Splendor), or you can Lay Claim (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lay+Claim) to their enchantment and let the fun begin. Forsake the worldly (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forsake+the+Worldly) will also do the trick. Winds of rebuke (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Winds+of+Rebuke) can also get rid of that enchantment. Failure /// Comply would be good against any of those spells, Kefnet's last word (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Kefnet%27s+Last+Word) is like a cheaper version of lay claim (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lay+Claim), Saving grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Saving+Grace) LITERALLY lives up to it's name sake, and I'm amazed that countervailing winds (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Countervailing+Winds) is a COMMON!!! Also consign /// Oblivion would be nice to have copies of. But the most beautiful thing is MIRAGE MIRROR (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Mirage+Mirror) copying their Overwhelming Splendor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Overwhelming+Splendor).....the rage will be on.

Mirage Mirror (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Mirage+Mirror)?  I love it.  Turn the enchantment back, in a way, then naturalize (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Naturalize) away the one that's on me, so they have to deal with it, and I don't.

Thank you.

Only problem is Mirage Mirror (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Mirage+Mirror) is until end of turn.
Title: Re: I need some advice.

Then you have 1 turn to copy their enchantment, and to try and turn the tables (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Turn+the+Tables) on them. At that point it'd be a stale mate unless you can copy theirs AND remove yours in the same turn. That'd be the best move.

What do you think of this deck list?

3 Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth), able to resist both -1/-1 counters and big enough to survive Hour of D.
3 Wild Wanderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wild+Wanderer), to generate mana.
3 Obsessive Skinner (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Obsessive+Skinner) to generate +1/+1 counters, allowing a creature to survive Hour of D. It also works with the dabbling in Delirium
3 Kujar Seedsulptor to generate +1/+1 counters.
3 Noose Constrictor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Noose+Constrictor) for air defense.  Replaces 3 Primal Druids, whom my opponents had learned not to kill in testing matches.
1 Watchers of the Dead (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Watchers+of+the+Dead) for Delirium, graveyard exile (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Exile) in an emergency
3 Bastion Inventor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bastion+Inventor) similar to Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth), but a better choice for +1/+1 counters.
3 Skyship Plunderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Skyship+Plunderer) for air attack and defacto proliferating.

1 Nissa, Nature's Artisan (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Nissa%2C+Nature%27s+Artisan).  She is to be kept because her medical properties kept me alive (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Alive) in a test game.
1 Perpetual Timepiece (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Perpetual+Timepiece) for graveyard retrieval and partly for Improvise.
3 Negate (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Negate) they served me well.
4 Insidious Will (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Insidious+Will) to reflect spells back, can counter in an emergency
4 Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act) intended to return Wild Wanderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wild+Wanderer)/Kujar Seedsculptor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Kujar+Seedsculptor)/Obsessive Skinner (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Obsessive+Skinner)/Nissa.

3 Appetite for the Unnatural (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Appetite+for+the+Unnatural) & 2 Springsage Ritual (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Springsage+Ritual) to defend against artifacts.  Worked great on an Aetherflux Reservoir (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aetherflux+Reservoir) and against an attacking vehicle.

https://deckstats.net/decks/19961/761678-deck-15-the-viridian-shield/en

I have replaced the green/black Viridian Shield with the new decklist.  Viridian is more of a bluish green than a blackish green, anyway (that would be Olive, Pine, or Forest (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest).)

Post by: Soren841 on July 08, 2017, 09:08:49 am
Maybe 3 Nissa and no Perpetual Timepiece (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Perpetual+Timepiece) and no Watchers of the Dead (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Watchers+of+the+Dead). 2 Nissa for consistency and 1 for removal. Hour of Devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hour+of+Devastation) is adding some more removal for planeswalkers so just one doesn't seem like the best idea if she kept u alive (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Alive)

Besides I don't see why those are in there.. they're one ofs, and not particularly good

There were originally two Perpetual Timepieces and no Watchers of the Dead (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Watchers+of+the+Dead), but I thought having the extra creature would be of help.  It wasn't.

That is the only Nissa I own, though I may look in to getting a second.  The blue flier adds a counter to any permanent, including Nissa.  Insidious Will (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Insidious+Will) is in the deck because I can protect Nissa with it.  But perhaps I'm better off forgetting her and going with a fourth Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth), or as someone I tested with suggested, this one creature that grants all attacking creatures +X+X, based upon what she is.

Maybe I should remove some of the green anti-artifact spells in favor of green fogs so blows are glancing instead of fatal.

What about Hunt the Weak (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hunt+the+Weak) or Prey Upon (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Prey+Upon)?

I can't remember the spell name but instead of having your creature fight other creatures, why don't u use a spell that has it deal damage (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Deal+Damage) equal to its power instead.

ambuscade (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ambuscade) is probably the card you are thinking of and yes that would be a good choice. Anything enchant or artifact destroy should be side boarded because there is no guarantee that the opponent will be playing those spells. As replacements aerial guide (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aerial+Guide) would help give your hexproof creature flying, tenacious hunter (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Tenacious+Hunter) if you decide to add some -1/-1 green cards to the mix (the crocodiles are good for that), and also mirage mirror (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Mirage+Mirror) believe it or not would be helpful in this deck. What do you think of these recommendations so far?

With a spell like Ambuscade (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ambuscade) your 2/2 can now take out a 3/3 without dying.. much better than fighting.

Post by: Chronologist on July 09, 2017, 09:44:38 am
Since I'm also going for Delirium, would a sorcery-speed one-sided spell work better?  I really wanted Hunt the Weak (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hunt+the+Weak), but the 4 mana cost is too great of a disadvantage compared to the likes of Rabid Bite (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Rabid+Bite) or Nature's Way (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Nature%27s+Way).

But I could easily remove one Bastion Inventor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bastion+Inventor) and 1 Negate (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Negate) for a pair of Aerial Guides.  That's a good idea I am grateful for.  I'll see if I can get a Mirage Mirror (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Mirage+Mirror), but I don't think I can afford it.  It might be wicked fun, though.

How do you guys feel about me removing one Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth) and perhaps, just perhaps, my Nissa, for one or two Cultivator of Blades (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Cultivator+of+Blades)?

I'm thinking definitely not.. I'm seeing no trample so it's not worth removing Nissa

How does this decklist look?

//Lands
11 Forest (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest)
11 Island (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Island)

//Artifacts
1 Perpetual Timepiece (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Perpetual+Timepiece)

//Instants
3 Ambuscade (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ambuscade)
4 Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act)
4 Insidious Will (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Insidious+Will)
3 Negate (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Negate)

//Sorceries
3 Creeping Mold (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Creeping+Mold)

//Planeswalkers
1 Nissa, Nature's Artisan (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Nissa%2C+Nature%27s+Artisan)

//Creatures
2 Aerial Guide (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aerial+Guide)
2 Bastion Inventor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bastion+Inventor)
3 Kujar Seedsculptor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Kujar+Seedsculptor)
3 Noose Constrictor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Noose+Constrictor)
3 Obsessive Skinner (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Obsessive+Skinner)
2 Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth)
2 Skyship Plunderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Skyship+Plunderer)
3 Wild Wanderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wild+Wanderer)
1 Ancient Crab (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ancient+Crab)

Is Sultai a good idea so I can use Murder (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Murder) as removal, and counter Hour of Devastation (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Hour+of+Devastation) with Rush of Vitality (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Rush+of+Vitality) (since it does strip my cards of indestructible, but unlike the Theros archetypes, it doesn't say they can't regain it).  Then there's the medical properties of the Cartouche of Ambition (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Cartouche+of+Ambition).  Of course, the problem with a Sultai deck is it'll screw up my mana and rob me of counterspells.

 The perpetual timepiece (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Perpetual+Timepiece) in my opinion needs to go because it does not push towards the purpose of the deck and it would throw away your vital cards without you knowing. If anything contingency plan (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Contingency+Plan) would be a better spell if your're going towards delirium because you can actually choose what hits the grave.

Nissa should come out and the ancient crab (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ancient+Crab) because while they are "good cards" there are better ways that you can push this deck forward. For example, if you add scrounging bandar (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scrounging+Bandar) than you've got a low drop creature that will give you +1/+1 counters. Also lifecrafter's gift (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lifecrafter%27s+Gift) then you can get the +1/+1 counters across the board without having to rely on your flying pirate.

If anything for this deck I would recommend BANT (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bant) (W/G/U) over SULTAI (B/G/U) in this deck because the +1/+1 generation is something you'd see in a deck where field presence and a strong creature line up is important. Black does not care about strengthening its armies and does not hesitate to sacrifice. White preserves and strengthens everyone so all your warriors survive the battles to come. If you do go triple color then that's what you'd want to do.

Also if you decide to add red as a third color and make this deck TEMUR (G/U/R) then you can incorporate the energy mechanic in this deck and incorporate scrounging bandar (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scrounging+Bandar) with fabrication module (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Fabrication+Module). You will have SOOO many +1/+1 counters and you can place them on the bandar every turn because every turn scrounging bandar (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scrounging+Bandar) gives a +1/+1 counter to another creature. This will keep him alive (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Alive) and every turn someone is getting stronger.

Going Bant (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bant) would let me use a pair of Sigarda, Heron's Grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sigarda%2C+Heron%27s+Grace), as well as my (only) copy of Ajani, Unyielding.

So which of these two decklists is better?

1: Bant (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bant):

8 Forest (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest)
8 Island (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Island)
8 Plains (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Plains)

3 Subjugator Angel (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Subjugator+Angel)
3 Skyship Plunderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Skyship+Plunderer)
1 Sigarda, Heron's Grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sigarda%2C+Heron%27s+Grace)
3 Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth)

I like the bant (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bant) deck. Bouncing angels is always fun when it lets you bounce other creatures as well.

That was why I wanted the Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act) as my counterspell (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Counterspell), for its ability to bounce my +1/+1 generators and my mana-hunters back to my hand.  The angels will help with that.

I fret that the deck won't be quite as strong as it should as 3-color, but it does seem to get me what I need.  Just a few little pieces to pick up, too, nothing expensive.  And Call for Unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity) seems like it was made for a deck like this.

My only question now is should I run three of Woodcutter's Grit (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Woodcutter%27s+Grit) or Hepatra's Mark to protect Sigarda until e. o. t. or should I rely on my counter/reflects?

Well keep in mind that not all color pairings are meant to do the same things. Just because Bant (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Bant) doesn't have the aggro of Jund or destruction of Grixis (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Grixis) doesn't mean that it isn't strong in it's forms of support and protection. Strength can be proven by how you demonstrate you power is a matter of choice and perception. I feel that a Zombie Esper (U/W/B) deck that can drain 4-5 life per turn is STRONG compared to a Naya (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Naya) deck that might pump out 6 CMC creatures every turn for low mana costs through cost reductions or mana ramps. Lets focus on this deck an make it as strong as can be. The development (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Development) of this deck and watching it grow will help with your deck building skills.

Well, how does this list look?

//Lands
8 Forest (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest)
8 Island (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Island)
8 Plains (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Plains)

//Artifacts
1 Perpetual Timepiece (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Perpetual+Timepiece)

//Enchantments
1 Call for Unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity)
2 Lunar Force (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lunar+Force)

//Instants
4 Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act)
3 Insidious Will (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Insidious+Will)

//Sorceries
3 Ironwright's Cleansing (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ironwright%27s+Cleansing)

//Planeswalkers
1 Ajani Unyielding (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ajani+Unyielding)
1 Nissa, Nature's Artisan (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Nissa%2C+Nature%27s+Artisan)

//Creatures
3 Kujar Seedsculptor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Kujar+Seedsculptor)
3 Obsessive Skinner (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Obsessive+Skinner)
3 Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth)
1 Sigarda, Heron's Grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sigarda%2C+Heron%27s+Grace)
3 Skyship Plunderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Skyship+Plunderer)
3 Aerial Responder (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aerial+Responder)
3 Wild Wanderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wild+Wanderer)
3 Wispweaver Angel (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wispweaver+Angel)

I picked the Aerial Responders over the Subjugator Angels because they have healing power and vigilance (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Vigilance), and they cost 3 mana rather than 6.  Against a fast foe, the lifelink (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lifelink) and the cheap cost makes an effective offset, especially since they become a very good thing to put +1/+1 counters on to increase the lifegain.

Aerial Responder (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aerial+Responder) is legit the white Vampire Nighthawk (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Vampire+Nighthawk)

The aerial responder (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aerial+Responder) was a good choice for this deck. My question though is how do you plan on playing around with the call for unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity)? The lunar force (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lunar+Force) was a good combo piece but are you going to add more cards to augment this?

Call For Unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity) says "left the battlefield".  That means the bounce effect from Wispweaver Angel (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wispweaver+Angel) and Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act) trigger the +1/+1 effect.

Following that line of reasoning, what if I dropped one Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act) for one Identity Thief (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Identity+Thief)?

Okay then, how does this decklist look?

//Lands
7 Forest (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Forest)
7 Island (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Island)
7 Plains (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Plains)
2 Evolving Wilds (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Evolving+Wilds)

//Artifacts
1 Perpetual Timepiece (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Perpetual+Timepiece)

//Enchantments
1 Call for Unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity)
2 Lunar Force (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Lunar+Force)

//Instants
4 Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act)
3 Insidious Will (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Insidious+Will)

//Sorceries
3 Ironwright's Cleansing (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ironwright%27s+Cleansing)

//Planeswalkers
1 Ajani Unyielding (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Ajani+Unyielding)
1 Nissa, Nature's Artisan (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Nissa%2C+Nature%27s+Artisan)

//Creatures
3 Aerial Responder (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aerial+Responder)
1 Identity Thief (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Identity+Thief)
3 Kujar Seedsculptor (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Kujar+Seedsculptor)
3 Obsessive Skinner (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Obsessive+Skinner)
3 Scaled Behemoth (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Scaled+Behemoth)
2 Sigarda, Heron's Grace (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sigarda%2C+Heron%27s+Grace)
2 Skyship Plunderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Skyship+Plunderer)
3 Wild Wanderer (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wild+Wanderer)
3 Wispweaver Angel (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wispweaver+Angel)

 IT could possibly work. Just keep in mind that your enchantment only triggers when your permanents leave the field, not your opponent's. Now if you are constantly flickering your own stuff then it could work. Also it's a good combat trick.

I was only interested in flickering my own things.  Disappearing Act (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Disappearing+Act) doesn't return anything my opponent controls, just me.  Wispweaver Angel (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Wispweaver+Angel) also only flickers things I control.  Identity Thief (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Identity+Thief), conversely, can flicker (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Flicker) something an opponent controls, but Call For Unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity) won't always be on the battlefield and I can make it flicker (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Flicker) a creature that hurts the enemy upon arrival.

 So ETB effects would be your best way to run this deck. Play enough low drops so that you're not sitting  with expensive angels in your hands and you should be good.

Just putting this in there - GMoto is spot on about revolt only triggering if your permanent was the one who left the battlefield - another point is revolt only works on your turn, so any flickering with instants on opponent's turn won't trigger revolt.

I've always wanted to use call for unity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Call+for+Unity); this looks like a fun deck - good luck!

Also just out of curiosity (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Curiosity), are you focusing this deck more on the block itself or on the game play tactic that you're gearing the deck around? If so then having this deck focused on kaladesh may be a good choice for you. Also acrobatic maneuver (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Acrobatic+Maneuver), aether tradewinds (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=%C3%86ther+Tradewinds), alley evasion (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Alley+Evasion), aviary mechanic (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Aviary+Mechanic), deadeye harpooner (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Deadeye+Harpooner), and also sram's expertise (http://cards.deckstats.net/magiccard.php?lng=en&card=Sram%27s+Expertise) would be a good choice. You can make token creatures that you can sac once per turn for your unity's revolt trigger, then you can play ANY of your 3-drop or less creatures off of that same spell.

Those are all very good points.  Thank you all.  I'd like to give this deck a whirl as it currently exists, and when it doesn't work, then I'll implement changes based upon your advice.

Thank you again.  :)
