TBH I'm trying out forgotten ancient because I have a copy that I took out of Ezuri when I made that deck more competitive and thought it'd be worth a try. It's also just a decent threat in a casual meta. I think you're right about fecundity. It's just one of those cards I always want to try out. I'll probably cut it soon.

Judaspriester, I completely agree that diabolic intent would be great here. It's just not in for budget reasons, but I might end up moving it from another deck into this one.

The idea with forbidden orchard is to give myself targets for counters and as a political tool. I want to try it out a bit first and see how useful it is. Quillspike is more of a meta call. I’m just trying to avoid too many infinite combos with this deck in particular given the playgroup I want to use it in. I generally hate diabolic tutor given it’s cost. If I’m playing a budget combo or toolbox deck I might include it. I know I’ve got shred memory in there, but that being instant speed, one mana cheaper, and uncounterable is much stronger IMO. I just want to test out mind slash. Phyrexian Reclamation is a great card. I’m just trying to keep this a budget deck (all the non-budget cards except necroskitter I already own).
