Thanks for your feedback! I've been tweaking and playing the deck since Theros was released.
Basically the idea of the deck is a solid midrange creature base (Hydra's) that gets "better" with the addition of
Corpsejack Menace.
Experiment One - evolves at double the speed making it big real quick and giving it enough counters to survive
Supreme Verdict or spot removal.
Polukranos - doubles the counters when Polukranos goes Monstrous (doesn't double the damage though sadly) making him even larger.
Kalonian Hydra - not only enters the board at double the size, but also doubles the trigger effects making for HUGE attacks.
Mistcutter Hydra - enters the board doubled in size and is an excellent curve the turn after playing a
Kalonian Hydra to put extreme pressure on the board.
Elvish Mystic and
Sylvan Caryatid - provide additional acceleration and mana fixing to ramp into Corpsejack and the Hydra's. Caryatid also helps evolve
Experiment One early on.
The "god curve" for the deck is:
T1 - Land, play
Experiment One.
T2 - Land, play
Sylvan Caryatid,
Experiment One evolves, Attack for 2 with
Experiment One (2/2).
T3 - Land, play
Corpsejack Menace,
Experiment One evolves, Attack for 4 with
Experiment One (4/4.
T4 - Land, play
Kalonian Hydra,
Experiment One evolves, Attack for 10 with
Experiment One (6/6) and
Corpsejack Menace (4/4).
T5 - play
Mistcutter Hydra,
Experiment One evolves, Attack for 72
Experiment One (20/20),
Kalonian Hydra (24/24),
Mistcutter Hydra (24/24),
Corpsejack Menace (4/4).
I'm happy to go over
