You working on one too?  This is the list I've been toying with:

"Naga" . . . Not sure what you hear, but I hear a word that sounds like the Spanish vulgar for . . . Never mind.

I love the flavor on this, but Gideon, Champion of Justice is the Gideon that was involved with the maze of Ravnica and he wasn't nearly as involved as Jace, Architect of Thought (the one looking for the solution to the maze) or Jace, the Living Guildpact (surprise, the reward for solving the maze is a new title with many new responsibilities!).

Really like the deck and the theme.  Wasn't certain about Quest for Ulla's Temple though.  With only 21 creatures, you'll only have a 1 in 5 chance to reveal a creature each round.  One way to cheat around this is to replace counterspell and draw spells with creatures that let you counter spells and draw (a lot of blue wizards do this, but they shift the theme a bit)

I'd suggest EDH/commander. If you have a bunch of cards, or a mechanic you really like, you might find that you can build a fun commander deck around it for casual play. After the Innistrad block, I was so impressed by the spirits of that set that I built a trial spirit/flicker deck with Brago as the commander. When panharmonicon came out, it was an auto include.

Yeah, it's not optimum. I was really shooting for the absolute lowest price as an idea for a $10 white elephant present that is still playable. Ornithpter was in the original deck lists in place of the spidersilk net, but some of the possible combo pieces for this require non creature spells. Additionally, ornithopter can only block as a sacrificial chump blocker, the net is a little better at putting up a wall while you gather pieces. I've been thinking that tutors would definitely be advantageous, but they went the way of the other two color lands, just beyond the $10 limit. Drift of phantasms was close, but it only tutors the creatures that untap themselves. Thanks for the suggestions.

Gravespawn Sovereign might be a way to make your zombies a little more springy, relieve a little tension from Gisa and Geralf for raising the dead.  With the number of zombies you're running, Dark Salvation can be ab amazing removal spell that costs nothing to cast.  I like how you've put this deck together on an extremely tight budget and the two cards I suggested are about $0.50 each.

You have no red sources with which you can cast banefire.  Weasal254's suggestion of paradise mantle would get it, but you need something because banefire has a casting cost of XR.

From Beyond makes 1/1 eldrazi scion tokens that will interact better with the Sigil Captain.  It costs one more to cast though.  Interesting deck.

I see how tidehallow strix is a defensive flier, but it doesn't fit the theme of the rest of the deck.  Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker might not be what you're looking for since it costs more to cast, but it does match the mill/grind theme.

yeah, I figured it should be an obvious gag when you read the description then see it running 30 lands (almost) all basic

Nice.  Did you consider Sundering Growth?  It costs less than Fade into Antiquity, and can populate on your tokens from Kalonian Twingrove.  I'd totally understand if you you left it out for theme reason.

Plea for Power makes it a legacy deck instead of modern

The muddle the mixture is in there primarily as a tutor for the treasure hunt, but it can also be used to find the zombie infestation, or counter on the rare occasion that it's needed for that.
